SALMAN gets the HEEBIE-JEEBIES!!!!!!!!

You don't expect Salman Khan to suffer from stage fright. But at a recent awards ceremony, the actor showed signs of nervousness when he took to the stage to host the show. Usually the one who performs to thunderous applause, it is not a role Sallu is accustomed to.

And unfortunately, it showed. He fumbled and made a few bloopers before finally getting his inimitable groove back. It was not an evening he would forget, or forgive. A day later, when a group of mediapersons at a Celebrity League Match in Hyderabad complimented him on the previous night's entertaining act, Salman laughed but confessed: he had a tough time getting his act together.

Apparently, the audio device attached to his ears, was not functioning properly, said Salman and added he did not get the cues on time, because of some static. In the star's own words, the incident took him back by a good 24 years, to the heady days of Maine Pyar Kiya when Salman hosted a similar function in Delhi. "I had rehearsed my part.

I made a dashing entry, did a few steps and froze. I had no idea what was going on. Every second felt like an hour," he said. A devastated Salman then exited with his face covered with his signature Maine Pyar Kiya jacket. "I was an emotional wreck, when Sangita Bijlani came in and assured me that things will be fine."

A scarred Salman had sworn off stage functions for a while. "When people pay a premium to watch these shows, it is not fair to disappoint them. One cannot be incompetent and not entertain them," he said.

Thankfully however, Salman swung back in action this time, and his audience did not go home disappointed. And no, there was no girlfriend backstage to calm his jangled nerves. He's a grown up man now after all!
