I don't think daily soaps would work out for our movie stars. SRK had suggested doing miniseries, that would work better IMHO. It's better content too. It would be cool to revive the weekly shows that are not crime dramas or reality shows.

"DEKH BHAI DEKH was produced by ABCL and was a favorite growing up.

Now tv actors wont be looked down upon.👍🏼

Who can say this guy is 70 year old... Very enterprising... 👍🏼 Reinventing himself each time... It works or not... Too early to say... But for the attempt and his enthusiasm... 👏

Woohoo Y not? I think it will be a blockbuster. He was the first with Kaun banega and rest of the khans followed him to TV. ABCL also produced Dekh Bhai Dekh.👍🏼

It's not extinct on Desi television. Not counting Pakistani drama serials, I think regional television still has some weekly format serials that have a limited amount of episodes. If we're talking about Hindi television, then yeah, pretty much.

they should release DVDs of the old shows from the pre-K-drama era like Tu tu main main, justjoo, dekh bhai dekh, hip hip hurray, family no 1, hum sab ek hai, star bestsellers...

either that, or start new seasons of the YRF dramas(mahi way, rishta.com)...

these days therz NOTHING I can watch on tv...even nach baliye which used to be soo much fun turned into a pile of crap...

90s tv was the best...

Dekh Bhai Dekh was released on DVD.

But yes, it would be cool if they release more of the old shows on DVD. So many gems are gathering dust in the producers' vaults somewhere.

Ok if not extinct, let's say the weekly format is "an endangered species".

Zee and SP started uploading old serials.

I think Hip Hip Hurray was one of the ones they uploaded. Star Bestsellers too. I think they're still there too.

oh yeah i heard of tht, but its not available everywhere though...just a select few places...

zee has uploaded all the Hip hip hurray episodes on youtube and all the dekh bhai dekh episodes are there as well...

but for the other shows, it would be nice if the makers released them on dvd...im sure a LOT of ppl will be interested in buying them...
