Abhishek isn't a bad actor. Given the right role and direction he can give very good performances; but his name works against him big time. I remember really liking Abhishek as teen, because he came across as so down to earth - I really wanted to see him do well. Then his father became overbearing, with his constant yammering on about the status of the Bachan clan, and ranting about Abhishek's acting abilities. This put me off Abhishek and I became sort of indifferent to him. Then he married Aishwarya, the queen of self-obsessed, and began giving really stupid vain interviews, in which all he did was gush about how he's married 'the most beautiful woman in the world'; and that was it for me I completely went off him and haven't watched a single film of his since.
Abhishek lacks star-power, to do well he needs to keep a clear head and not let his mind get clouded by his families self-absorbed attitudes, and focus on character driven roles; he can't pull of commercial roles like Ajay, Akshay, the Khans because he just lacks that charisma and star presence.
And avoid remakes of his dads films. If he wants to put the final nail in the coffin of his career, a remake of father B's film/s is the perfect choice.
