How much does Salman is responsible for this much craze?
To be fair enough, I'd give credit to the film's theme and treatment more for its success than only its stars (though Salman's MPK also did really well in whatever overseas territories it was released).
The traditional Indian values, ethnicity and culture made people lap it up. Old Indians got nostalgic while the young were fascinated. Indians abroad also used HAHK to make their kids connect to Indian culture and values.
Even the servant and pet are like family in this film. It's all happy, dream-like setting with ideal Indian values.
Overseas audience connected with their roots through HAHK I believe.
