I am sure he himself sponsored the film. The producer's name is also some Joshi. Here is a hilarious review of the film:

Mumbai Mirror: needs a reality check!

Director: Ankush Bhatt
Cast: Sachin Joshi, Prakash Raj, Mahesh Manjrekar

The hero of this film (Sachin Joshi) makes an entry on a festive song number ala Salman Khan in Wanted. Even the supporting actor (Mahesh Manjrekar), villain (Prakash Raj) and the villain sidekicks are derived from the same film. He plays a cop, sporting an extra-large moustache like Aamir Khan in Talaash. Further he derives his punch-line from Salman Khan's Bodyguard which goes something like 'mujhe sirf ek cheez se darr lagta hain, ke mujhe kisi cheez se darr nahi lagta'. And then he goes on a police system sanitization mode like Ajay Devgn's Singham.

The villain of this film frequently feels he has underestimated the hero. However the viewer will certainly feel the hero has overestimated himself. He attempts to play a corrupt yet charitable Chulbul Pandey kinda larger-than-life cop. Alas Sachin Joshi is not half as charming as Salman Khan or Akshay Kumar to pull off a mindless movie on his topless shoulders.

Abhijeet Patil (Sachin Joshi) is a debauched cop who loves woman and hates woman abusers. When a local don Shetty (Prakash Raj) tries to operate illegally in his area, Abhijeet stops his activities. Shetty uses his clout to get him out of the way. Suspended from his job, Abhijeet plans to outwit his detractor.

The plot of Mumbai Mirror seems straight out of an 80s potboiler. It lacks everything from style, substance to sensibility. The storytelling is not half as interesting as director Ankush Bhatt's last movie Bhindi Bazaar Inc written by Ghalib Asad Bhopali who has also scripted this film. Like in Bhindi Bazaar, Bhopali seems obsessed with employing metaphors using the game of chess but it just doesn't register this time. Amidst an overdose of dope and item numbers, the plot just meanders into being a lousy gangwar flick.

Blame it to Sachin Joshi's meek voice, callous dialogue delivery or lack of screen presence, the proceedings lack impact despite all efforts made by the editor, action director and the supporting cast. The production values are tacky and the background score is just not in sync with the scenes.

The impact of an over-expressive Prakash Raj is completely neutralized by an indifferent Sachin Joshi. Mahesh Manjrekar is just about average. Aditya Pancholi and Prashant Narayanan are wasted in inconsequential roles. Sudesh Berry hams hysterically in a Bihari accent.

At the end you still keep wondering why the film is named Mumbai Mirror. The makers surely need a reality-check!
