I disagree. Saif doesn't make all the Muslim actors in the industry. Shahrukh follows Islam and is proud of it. Many villains in movies are north Indian Hindu politicians.

Anyways I don't think discussing religion here right and neither am I capable of it.

Did I say Saif is the only muslim actor in bollywood? NO. I just gave an example. Yes SRK is the only muslim actor who is proud of being muslim and has been very vocal about it. Also Aamir.

But if you see what Saif says about islam then it's shocking, he made very offensive comments. I was like if you so much against your religion then don't be muslim. He said if you practice islam then you can only be a fundamentalist/extremist. If you are not open minded(drinking, wearing small clothes, partying etc) then he believes you extremist.

In many movies the heros are not muslim. When ever they muslim then they either weak or getting discriminated.

Even saif made some very offensive statements about his own religion so that explains why such characters because that's how bollywood people view islam. Which is very sad because it's just discrimination and prejudice.

90% you always see that it's only hinduism in movies which is shown in a good way and sometimes christians but muslim believers are always showed as weak.

Industry stereotypes Sikhs, Christians also. I find all kind of stereotyping in bad taste. A Sikh is supposed to be foolish, sane Sikhs are only in army. Christians were portrayed as promiscuous in older films. Mostly dressed in skimpy clothes and had loads of flings.

But yes portrayal of Muslims is most pathetic. Politicians and media is also to blame for fostering this bias.

Totally agree with you.

I am no desi and didn't know any sikh people so what ever I saw onscreen I believed it. When I was younger I meet some sikh people and I got shocked because they were not how they were portrayed. Then I realized the wrong stereotypes. All sikh people are not loud. I also dislike how sikh people are portrayed as stinky people who always drag food with them i airplane and creates smell and do not let security people touch their body etc.

Christians has always been showed as people who had no value, which was very offensive.

But nothing beats the portrayal of muslims. They been portrayed as terrorists, sad people, people with no education, people who abuse others etc.

I am sick of actors trying to recreate their own past glory cinematic moments onscreen. Especially yesteryear actors do it a lot. Show us something new and different. Madhuri was trying to do her yesteryear dancing diva routine in Aaja Nachle. Whereas Sridevi showed a different side to herself in English Vinglish.

Just stop paying tributes to yourself! Most Bollywood stars end up becoming glorified caricatures of their former self.
