it was okay I think New York and Kurbaan were better.. but that's just my opinion.

I have no idea why this film under-performed at the box office in India. Some are saying it was because of SRK in a different type of role/film. But CDI was a blockbuster. Anyways, MNIK was an amazing film, probably my favorite film of this decade so far (2010-present).

Indian audience is too used to masala! Can u imagine a crap movie like soty with a half baked script and screenplay is a superhit?

The first half was pretty darn good, but Karan's love for melodrama ruined things in the second half. The whole stuff with Mama Jenny + tornado or whatever natural disaster it was became too much. Then, Karan also edited out a LOT of SRK-Kajol scenes so many SRK-Kadz fans (who went to watch only to see those 2) ended up sightly disappointed on that front.

Overall, the film itself had a very lovely message.

Another problem was that it was the 3rd film within a year that was dealing with 9/11 from Bollywood. It became repetitive, not to mention many of us have already seen countless other 9/11 films from Hollywood.

I loved that movie. Even i wonder why this movie is hated so much. It really showed what people went through post 9/11. I have only seen it once and can never watch it again. It makes me so depressed. :'(
