Rahat Fateh Ali Khan: Overrated or Underrated?

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is everywhere in BW. Every other film has a romantic song sung by him! Having grown up listening to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, I am a big fan of Rahat too! But sometimes I find him over-utilized, his uniqueness seems to be ebbing away.

On the other hand, Rahat has yet to win any major award! I personally think he should have won it last year for Teri Meri (Bodyguard)

So my question is what do you guys think, is he overrated or underrated?

Neither over nor underated..he deserves d position he has got...i have seen how even a very normal song wen sung by him becomes beautiful..m a huge fan of his voice...👍🏼

He got what he deserves. He is the best for slow and sufi kind of songs.

Overrated for sure.
He can only sing romantic/Sufi songs & is the master at it BUT he is not Versatile & still considered best by some which makes him Overrated IMO.

Sonu Nigam is the Best. Most Versatile with an amazing voice 😳

I am not a good judge of music. Rahat, Atif both sound the same to me. So I find Rahat as overrated as Atif. Only Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan had some uniqueness about him. I personally prefer Indian singers especially Sonu over Rahat and Atif. They are a lot more versatile.

he totaly deserves it.. The guy can make any song standout with his rendetion

and I dnt expect him to win any Indian award simply bcz he is a Pakistani...

Xactly...ders smthing in his voice which makes u fall in luv wid d song...he sings his songs wid perfection..and nobody yes nobody can sing dat song better dan him...😊

And i do think heis talent is beyond des awards and all...👏👏

Agreed that Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan had uniqueness about him! And, still noone can come close to him. But, I don't think music has any language or country. Don't agree that Indian singers are better.

Btw, my parents are from India.
