Salman Khan's Dabangg 2 has opened to a record-breaking response in Pakistan. The film collected PKR 1 crore (Rs 56.4 lakhs) on it's opening day at the box office, making it the highest single day grosser in the neighbouring country and the first film to cross PKR 1 crore in a single day.

Dabangg 2 surpassed the opening day collections of Jab Tak Hai Jaan - PKR 93 lakhs (preview shows on Thursday + Friday) and Aamir Khan's Talaash, which collected PKR 90 lakhs on November 30th.

Dabangg 2 was Salman Khan's first release of the year in Pakistan, as Ek Tha Tiger was banned by the censor board for its depiction of Pakistani intelligence operatives.

Directed by Arbaaz Khan, Dabangg 2 released worldwide on December 21st.
