Dabangg 2 has collected approximately Rs 19.5 ' 20 crore on it's first day at the domestic box office. The film opened to an extraordinary response for the morning shows, but with Friday being a working day, afternoon and evening shows had lower occupancy.

For a non-holiday opening day, these are outstanding figures. Way ahead of the previous best first day figures of Rowdy Rathore and Don 2.

Dabangg 2 is likely to peak on Saturday night and put up record-breaking numbers on Sunday. The film will also benefit from the national holiday for Christmas on Tuesday.

We expect the first 3 day weekend to be around 67 crore nett. If the film sustains well at the box office on Monday, it's likely to cross the 100 crore mark on Tuesday.

Note: The figures above are very early estimates. Official figures will be published tomorrow.

Getting so many mix reviews but most of them are positive...My friend watched it today and she loved it

Dabangg 2 Slows At Multiplexes In Evening

Dabangg 2 which raced out of the traps in the morning slowed in the afternoon and evening period as many multiplex shows had lower occupancies than the morning. This was always the likely scenario as its not a holiday but at some places it slowed considerably. This could also be due to exceessive shows. The North was hit hard with evening occupancies down a lot due to the cold weather which is a norm for this time of the year.

The morning shows suggested a 25 crore nett total was on the cards but looking at it in the evening and late evening shows the all India collections could come in around the 18-19 crore nett range which is still huge but the film has been let down slightly by the multiplex business.
