Who cares abt the box office success, Aamir delivers something the other two Khans fail to do and that is quality cinema, at least at the moment.

I liked almost all of his early films, let's just say the Indian audience is a bandwagon audience. There was a time when only Shahrukh films worked well even though Aamir and Sallu made some decent films.

Yes, BO wise he was never hyped big apart from Ghajini n 3 Idiots, also this was the reason Talaash got such huge expectations ke it will beat 3 Idiots or Ghajini, ppl didn't pick it up as individual film or diff kind of film.

@Skep: Okay, since this trend for him has just started, let's wait another 5-10 years and we can actually discuss this. 😆 Because obviously Aamir wasn't too great in the 90s and he only reached this superstar status after Lagaan, then it's unfair to bring up his past BO records now.

off topic: i watched Lagaan like 3-4 years ago for the first time. 😆😆 i usually skip hyped films. Must say, the movie was pretty good.

@Meena: Hahaha! The hype for the film took THAT long for it to wear off for you? 😆

I love the movie! It's a wobderful movie and a girl like me who has never watched an actual cricket match in her life was at the edge of her seat while watching this one.

@Radhe

I mentioned TZP only as a different/risky/experimental film. TZP was a more unlikely film to work at box office. Yet it did! And HOW!

I mention TZP because for Talaash people say it is risky/different/experimental. I was comparing only in that sense.

The thing that if not for Aamir then this film wouldn't have made even this much applies to even other stars' films as well. It's like Ready wouldn't have done this much if not for Salman or a universally panned film like Ra One wouldn't have done what it somehow did if not for SRK.

I mention Barfi, TZP only to compare the risk/experiment element - which is so often being brought up to term Talaash performance acceptable.

Among all other stars, Aamir is considered more capable of pulling off surprising results in different genres than anybody else. So is Talaash performance good as per his own standards (not 3I/Ghajini, but standards of doing great with different genres)?

And you still did not tell me which one's a bigger success comparing the scales of release, face value/star attraction for audience, release period and final collections accumulated? Kahani or Talaash?

From 1988 - 2010, Aamir Khan has 7 hits in Top 5 films per year... in which way his Box Office is overrated while in comparison Salman/SRK has 23 hits???

Media will write about more hit films or just 7 films?

Your logic = TZP Success = Agree

Your Logic = Talaash - Non Success = Agree

How does it even linked to Aamir Khan's Box office being OverRated when in his whole career he has very less films which succeeded at BO???

@Mysticgoryfilms & the rest

Somehow you people are again dragging quality or brilliance of some films in past decade whereas this one about pure numbers.

@Radhe

Look, certain fans and sections do hype up Aamir Khan as comparable or even superior to other stars or even an all time great on basis of good box office in just past decade, particularly 3I/Ghajini.

At many places I've read people claiming he has the best success ratio of all actors ever (not just other Khans). This is why I set to discuss how an actor's box office clout be compared or perhaps even rated superior to other stars without taking his ENTIRE career into account?

It is not exactly fair that people mix up quality from some films and box office from some films and record as producer in a debate about an actor's overall stature. Is it?
