i am sorry if any of the other khan fan has got offended by this post but all i want to say is that " All 3 khans are the kings"...nd we can't seperate the best out of them!!..if u still have any doubts...wait for all 3 of them to realeas amovie of same genre nd see the box office results( although i know who will win) 😆😆

LMAO!😃 In a thread about box office track record over the entire career, an AK fan again brings in acting! Now why mixing two different things? It's odd how people start discussing either star's real life character/personal life or acting/impact in discussions related to star status or box office. Changing terms does not work in a debate. Or does it?

What you ask about 3 Idiots, people can ask same for Aamir, that can he play a psychotic obsessive lover the way SRK did in Darr - and pull off both critical and commercial success with it? Or can he do a mindless film like Ready and take it to 120 crores nett the way Salman Khan did? Even Sunny Deol fans can ask if anyone can bring the gravitas which he did to his roles in Border, Ghayal, Gadar. Roles and acting are different debate altogether!

Every actor has their set of iconic roles and films. And why do people here compare only to other Khans? It is an overall discussion of a person's record. Not just comparison to other 3 contemporaries!

TZP in top 5 grossers of 2007 is EXCEPTIONAL and one has to hand it over to Aamir for pulling it off. Though now same guy has failed to get his Talaash in top 5 grossers, 5 years later, in a comparatively more accessible genre. Aamir works best in social issue/youth issue or patriotic films. And there's no denying it. He does not have other flamboyance so he fits in such films much better than other stars do.

There's much talk about Ghajini, fair enough. He transformed his body, but nowadays every other guy is into body building. He managed to get into skin of the character - yes. But getting into skin of character is not what we are discussing in this topic here.

Supernatural genre does not exactly become record breaking material at box office is true. But he's taken riskier themes to BO glory in past, so why not now? People are making many explanations now. But the fact is that same people would've been celebrating Aamir's power if he had managed to take Talaash over 100 crores nett!

I like your honest opinion on Ghajini (though I personally love that film as an entertainer, enjoyed it a lot for all its flaws) but as I said, it is a conventional genre. For all hype around Aamir being Midas touch, it's a fact he relies as much as others on conventional genres such as action/romance. Just that, his trump card since Lagaan has been social/youth issues - where only he reigns supreme (even though Sanjay Dutt has succeeded in such stuff with Munnabhai films, SRK in CDI).

You say Ghajini succeeded only due to him but same can be said for hits of other stars too - over the decades.

Just that how many films does Aamir have which worked, and worked only due to him? And how many films do other stars (not just his contemporaries, but even people from past and present) have which worked and worked only due to them?

I do gotta admit that I had this misconception about Aamir being the "midas touch guy" before reading this thread but it seems like the reality is far from what is assumed. Sure I still love his movies & acting but heck, its being talked about BO here so screw the other factors. Great Debate going On, keep going :D

@People who are calling SRK & Salman "so-called" superstars, need to know the facts from this thread. Nobody becomes "so-called superstars & actors in the blink of an eye. Even they have worked hard for 23 long years so no need to Underestimate anyone to defend ur fav by calling others as "so-called". Do it in a dignified way if want to.

IMO, after going through this thread, Yes, he is Overrated as far as BO is concerned other than that all's well.

Agree with the bold. Everybody is overrated. That's the problem with Bollywood or any entertainment industry. One success and the audience puts them up on a pedestal and keeps going at it until they move onto a different one to idolize.

Talaash has proved it. Weak script and hence it hasnt fetched the expected money.
