firstly amazing discussion happening all around...

when I go watch a movie it's coz I want those three hours to be entertaining. I don't want to spend energy-emotional or logical!!

That's the biggest advantage masala movies have over the more serious brand of cinema!!

as an example-I went to see talaash after one of my exams...and half way through the movie I realised that I was putting in a lot of effort to keep up..

Intelligent or meaningful cinema does not do badly because people don't have brains..it's more of a choice...and perhaps with the sort of hectic lifestyle all of us have most of the people would prefer watching a soty over kahaani!

They are two different stories my grandfather has died fighting for a free India.and i will never allow someone insulting my country.what Puff said about SS was wrong and i said it.Bollywood Movies have nothing to do with being intelligent or not.

I really wish I new the answer to that question.Will definitely be back to read the comments because I would really like to know as to why people would prefer a Bodyguard or Dabangg which are superhits even though they have nothing to them except item nos & illogical masala maardhar & a non existent plot to an OMG or Kahaani(which didnt do as well)This is something beyond my intelligence.

To say that it was a surprise to me when Barfi or 3 Idiots did well is an understatement😆

also I think for the common man in India everything shown on celluloid is a fantasy...so yes salman choking someone on an exhaust pipe or srk romancing a pretty lady in the mountains...makes us dream...makes us hope!! that the bully in school will also meet the same fate or that I'll get the girl I have a crush on...

Movies like let's say nokj...are a reflection of the harsh realities we face...

and am sure everyone likes a happy ending:)

Both OMG and Kahaani were given the verdicts of SUPER HIT.

The reason 3 Idiots did well because :

1) It was an Entertainment ...
2) Comedy was at itys Best ..
3) Solid Message..
4) Family Entertainter...
5) Unusual Concept...this was 1st time a Education System was put on Center Point...lot of things got Revealed ... This movie did taught the Parents ...i can say my Parents view definately got changed ...
6) Aamir Khan ... I put Aamir at the last becuase ...for 3 Idiots Its Subject was the clear Winner...

about Barfi...I am still confused...mabbe ppl who saw that movie recommended it that's why...

just like what happened with 3 Idiots ...
