Well said, when he took risks he was rarely appreciated esp the media and agree presently hes doing what the audience wants, and he was a great romantic hero as well since his debut with Maine Pyar Kiya, etc..

But i will say tere naam, london dreams, jannemaan were good.Only movies where SRK took risks were when he started as an antihero and then swades and chak de, his romance movies were not risky but cheesy and predictable. and his recent attempt with RaOne was a diaster..

Yeah, sure. What about Dil Se? The movie ahead its time. What about Paheli? It was a flop, but it is my second favorite after Dil Se and CDI. It was different because it was actually about a woman rights! Then KANK - movie could be better, but that is Karan's best work in my opinion and very brave step, cause it shows the after marriage reality. Asoka - again beautiful movie with good story and breathtaking cinematography. Don't know why it flopped.
SRK meaningful films are not only CDI and Swades!

^there was this photo of Ajay with Kajol where he had a mustache..he had this super creepy rapist stare, it's engrained in my mind. I can't get rid of it :(

Since then I'm always creeped out around him..that's why I just can't understand what all those women saw in him. 😆

He's a great actor nonetheless...

What's it going to take for them to wake up? Flops? Severe backlash like Ekta Kapoor got around the end of Kyunki time?? What??

They're pro at copying right? HW has tons of stories with characters not 25. Go copy them! I won't mind ...as long as at least its a step in the right direction!

It'll take the same thing it took to get movies to stop showing smoking in a glamorous light. It will take the public becoming aware of just how dangerous to THEM things like movies that refuse to even see women over 25 as anything other than "finished" and not worth loving or looking at.
It's also what it will take for Indian cinema to stop writing dialogue into scripts that insult Indian people, or any brown people for that matter.
Folks have to stand up for themselves and make it clear to the film makers that they are tired of being ignored or insulted and that they certainly won't pay for the privilege.
I still shake my head when I think that rather than use Meera's attitude as an opportunity to change a very cruel aspect of society they just put Meera's racism in the film with a matter of fact indifference that was really tacit approval of such thinking.
Mind blowing. All the men who made that movie insulted themselves by not making it clear that Meera was wrong.
How can we expect them to see that this is hurtful and disgusting if no one says anything---and mothers really start to BELIEVE that once they are "used" they aren't worth the time of day anymore!
Suhana will one day be 36 or so. Is SRK, that great father, really going to promote and be part of a mindset that puts her down in every way?
Anyone who is planning on noth dropping dead or on her life being worthless once she doesn't look young, dewy and virginal should really think long and hard if they want to just pretend this is right.
And SRK needs to start working with talented professionals first, friends second. He's top drawer and he owes it to himself and his career to make sure that everything around him is top drawer too.

There was no reason at all that SRK had to play a 20-something in JTHJ. He could have easily been in his late 30's or 40's and still fallen for a younger girl like Katrina. Then after the break-up moved to India and found Anushka. There are easy ways to take care of this and would not have required much. It was all because YRF seems to believe for a romance to be epic, 10 years have to pass. Very silly.

I think SRK should become friendly with Aamir and Salman for the sole purpose of finding out what plastic surgeons they use and what kind of work they've been getting done. If he wants to play younger characters, he needs to go do the same stuff they did. 😆

Aamir looked so old in Fanaa and now he's reverse aging. His entire hairline has changed too. Salman looked atrocious around Veer and Yuvraaj time with huge puffy bags under his eyes, bloated face and wrinkles. He's smooth as a baby now.

^^^Well Aamir attributes his youthful looks to Kiran. So Aamir will prolly convice SRK to dump Gauri and move on to PC or some other PYT.

The secret of my youthful looks is Kiran Rao: Aamir Khan

Aamir was in town along with the producer and director of his soon to release film

The secret of my youthful looks is Kiran Rao. But on a serious note, the Haj experience has left me a changed man. I now feel cleansed. I had gone for Haj with ammi thinking of it as the duty of a devout Muslim. but once you are there, the feeling of peace is so profound and since then, I feel blessed.
- Aamir Khan

My next film is Fukhrey, which we will be shooting in Delhi. But I promise you all, I will definitely try and look for a script to shoot here in Lucknow, or at least UP.
- Ritesh Sidhwani, producer

Directing Aamir was not difficult. In fact, he is most comfortable to work with. He knows his job so well, that a director hardly has to give any instructions

The article on Page 1 is full of so many inaccuracies, I was going to dissect it, but it will simply take too long and I don't know where to start.

Truly an abhorrent writing style, if I ever saw one. It's actually so ridiculous, it's laughable.

The writer seems to dwell on so-called failures: Baadshah was a huge massive flop and ruined his star power... Whereas super hits like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is not talked about other than a frivolous passing comment. This kind of one-sided writing is seen in a personal diary of an angry teenager, not a qualified journalist. Maybe SRK done something to really offend this person, perhaps refuse an interview at some point?

Things like "2001 started with the flop Asoka" is inaccurate. Asoka was released on October 26th. SRK had One 2 Ka 4 in the Spring of '01 which was well received and did decent business.

The article talks about numbers too much. There are many other legitimate and necessary ways of calculating a star's popularity. Shah Rukh Khan won many Best Actor awards throughout his career which highlight the fact that he remained the premier actor even during periods where his films might not have done so well.

I didn't want to be involved in this convo but sorry 2 OBVIOUS thing stood out to me.

One 2 Ka Four was bigger flop than Asoka.
Secondly 8 Filmfare proves nothing as their are judged by 5 - 10 people with in industry and finally when Abhay Deol in recent article mentioned the TRUTH which all knew about BOLLYWOOD AWARDS. They pay people to attend, perform and receive awards. Even Anil Kapoor bribed for Beta and admitted it. Filmfare invited such and awards the one attending.

thanks on reminding me on dil se I liked that one as Preity debuted in it and her talks on virginity😉😆. mani ratnam is cool

kank was horrible and i do not call a movie on extra maritial relations a risk. now you guys taking risk to another level as to meaning change in image. this way several actors took risks in their career. the only actor who truly took risks and in my unbiased opinion is Aamir.

One 2 Ka 4 + Asoka both did well overseas. And with a film like Asoka, it wasn't expected to become a blockbuster. It still does well on DVD sales. With One 2 still popular on satellite television. It's not all about initial box office numbers. Sholay opened poorly and was considered a flop in it's first week, having only picked up on word-of-mouth, as the critics had slammed it. Similarly Andaz Apna Apna flopped hard at the box office but is today a cult classic and considered one of the standouts of the 90s. My point is it is wrong to attach words like "flop" to a film which did decent enough overall business, all things considered.

And even if as you say One 2 was a bigger flop than Asoka, the writing in the article remains inaccurate, as it declared "2001 started with the flop Asoka". So my point is still valid.
