ahh so true pathaka!

any accent- southern, think etc is fine for me as long as its original and not fake. Nothing more annoying than these fake accents most celebrities adopt!

yeh i dunt really see accents as a bad thing...ppl world over have it...irish, french, scottish, chinese, germans etc...its just a part of who we are as an individual...i dunt think therz anything to be ashamed of in tht...which is why i have a problem with ppl who put on accents coz clearly it seems like they are ashamed of conversing in their natural accent which is a turn off...

you spoke my mind. So true!

for instance- aish's accent seems a little fake at times, but i think she puts it on brilliantly that it doesn't sound that fake. The most annoying and fake accent i heard recently was of koena mitra's. HILARIOUS! She was in US and this interview of hers where she is barely able to speak fluently but when ever she does she has that "in your face" fake accent which is rather embarrassing!

Just because you have an accent, it doesn't mean that you can't speak english properly or that you aren't well spoken. Deepika's been brought up in Bangalore and she's a South Indian, she obviously she has an accent. It's not as if you can't understand her or it's untolerable. 😕 She speaks well in her interviews, very thought out. Her dialogue delivery has improves leaps and bounds too.

first of all, i don't know why whole bollywood speaks english these days. there was a time when majority gave interviews in hindi. loved it.

but now, whether they can speak properly or not, but they make sure their interviews are in english.

anyways...priyanka speaks the best. i don't give a damn whether she carries an accent or not. but she choses wright words and pronounce it well too.
anyone here like american singer riahanas accent. love it. i remember once ppl were calling it fake, but today everyones loving it.

i also love how vidya balan speaks. i love love her accent.
as for worst..there are MANY.

i disagree with those who are saying that deepikas english is not good. i say, you guys are paying too much attention to her accent, she does have heavy indian accent. but that doesn't mean her english is bad. she uses proper vocabulary and even her pronunciations are fine.
same goes for tabu. its her accent, not her english that is bad.

yeh accents are not a judge of ones communication capabilities...the americans think the british accent sounds funny but the English originated the language...

so who decides wht accent is "acceptable"???
no one...😆

I always used to think why people do so, as Hindi is the mother tongue...then i found out that Hindi is not the official language of India.😲 Both English and Hindi have the same status for the country. Last year I went chennai, shockingly no one there could communicate in hindi but they could speak english, even an auto rickshaw driver was speaking english. I guess English the language itself has a global acceptance. and Consitution of India should think giving national status to Hindi if really everyone wants to speak and pronounce in Hindi more than in english

It shouldn't be shocking that people can't converse in Hindi in Tamil Nadu or other states where it's not the spoken language.

i wish award shows were hosted and conducted in hindi...

therz too much wannabe-oscar overload there with all the "id like to thank blah blah"...so when someone says "main shukriyada karna chahti hoon" it sounds soo refreshing and good...
