Shahrukh Khan?

None are (conventionally) good looking and all seem to have darker skin tone and arrived in the BW with no connections. But all had a good shot at being a mainstream Hero.

Bollywood is all about the Punjabis and the Khans 😆 The other communities are not represented well...though this year, I think, was the year of the Bengali's who gave us one awesome film after another..

As for an unconventional looking hero that BW would accept? Sure, they can but this hero will 99.99% of the time have to be a star kid--like Arjun Kapoor who came just this year...or if it's someone like Ranveer, then he has to be backed by a big PH like YRF and have tons and tons of talent. Warna bye bye...

Also... I feel like BW has far prettier women than handsome men. In fact Varun and Sid might the first good looking male debuts in years..perhaps that's why all the girls are crazy about them. 😆
