That's not telling a contractor. That's the contractor himself telling he will finish his job in the stipulated time. If he isn't able to, it is HIS problem. Not the client's.

One can only allot a certain number of dates. If the director is not prepared, it doesn't mean he can delay it to whatever time he likes. The actors have other committments too, like other projects and they cannot let go of those projects just because this project is left hanging in the middle because of a disorganized director.

I think you need to get your story straight.

Madhur did not know Ash was pregnant and that woman had the audacity to start shooting for the project without informing the crew. She wasted everybody's time and money and if she didn't belong to a powerful family the backlash would have been much more severe.

UTV is no small fish though and she will pay for this.

Most women generally don't announce their pregnancies unless they are through with their first trimester. So it is no surprise that Ash announced it in her 4th month.

And she started shooting because she thought she would do justice to the role in the stipulated time period. Had MB had an organized schedule, there would have been no problem at all. But he didn't and that's why he freaked out. She knew the importance of everybody's time and money and HENCE was willing to complete the film as per schedule. Not her fault if the director was unprepared.

Didnt Ash in an interview herself say it takes 100 days to shoot a movie. Then how did she imagine that this movie would be complete in 45 days? I have not seen any BW movie except low budget ones starring newcomers being complete in 30-45 days. This is the interview she makes the statement:

Delays are part and parcel of movie making and not just Indian films, all films.

You can try justifying her unproffesional behavior all you want, the fact remains- Ash started shooting for a film that she would not have physically been able to complete. And that is wrong on all accounts. In the court of law, UTV could have easily sued her for all kinds of damages. In legal terms, its fraud. Plain and simple.

Delays are part and parcel of movie making. But something supposed to be wrapped up in a month and a half being extended to EIGHT months? That's more than just a delay.

On the contrary, she could have sued UTV for discriminating her out on pregnancy grounds when she was perfectly willing to continue shooting the film and complete it as per schedule.

This is not the first time this has happened.

In 1996, Hollywood actress Hunter Tylo was cast in "Melrose Place." However, she was fired by the producer Aaron Spelling prior to filming, when she announced she was pregnant. The actress sued Spelling on grounds of discrimination for being pregnant and won $4.8 million from a Los Angeles jury.

I am sure if Ash could have sued...she would have done that and extracted her pound of flesh from this movie. The very fact she didnt shows that she is guilty. Obviously her contract would have forbidden her to get pregnant like those Miss World contracts.

Wonder why she was so desperate to act in that movie even putting her pregnancy in jeopardy...Imagine a pregnant lady dancing for numbers like 'Halkat Jawani' and then getting randomly pushed and pulled all over...😵

It would've creeped the viewers out once when they find out that the person getting pulled and pushed and thrown in the movie was actually a pregnant at the time of shooting...

I admire Aishwarya...but as far as this movie matter is concerned...she is guilty as charged...
