But since the poem was written by Adi Chopra I think even the title was his doing and not Yash Chopra's. So dont blame Yashji if you dont like the title. The last film which he made on his own without Adi's interference was Darr and that was YC's last film that I loved.

maybe its the case...
but I liked DTPH too immensely despite of all of its "plasticness" and not much meat/sense in the script.. it was way too high on entertainment

Even VEER ZAARA despite of having a GREAT storyline didn't matched upto the beautiful script and felt kinda lousy lousy

I am still looking for that lost yash Chopra of Faasle, Daagh-a poem of love (73), Kabhi Kabhi, Waqt, Dhool ka phool, Mashaal, Silsila, Chandni & Lamhe...
maybe he comeback who knows... but I can see time changes alot of things and most r irreversible.

lolzz.. but seriously puranay zamanay may many actors were the permanent employees of movie Banners like Qismat talkies movies etc in which ashok kumar and others were fixed... similarly other banners have used to hire actors as employees (its on record) and have monthly salaries, used to work with only their banners... the trend was in during 40's and early 50's and died with the emergence of many banners and opportunities with the passage of time.

People are hell bent on the star cast and less importance is given to the plot or the screen play prior to release. But things are changing... Which is a good thing

Have you noticed that in all these pre movie release interviews, actors always say that their movie is different but it is not at the end. It's the same old story with different actors portraying roles. Well it's just my pov 😳

Not too sure about Hollywood coz I am not a big buff of Hollywood movies (like Italian and Irani cinema besides Bollywood)
imo Bollywood had real good taste in titles in the past like Pakeezah, Do begha zameen etc..even Taare zameen par is a beautiful title.

If JTHJ would be a run of the mill goody goody routine movie I would have not even thought about its title as many Bollywood films nowadays lacks meat & content and don't take theirselves seriously... but when we have YC, ARR Gulzar and a serious romance based theme on a lavish level made with utter seriousness given to the product, than I think that much attention should have been given to the title which imo is not original (taken from the mukhda of a song of a masala action movie) and unappealing on the face value.

If YC would have chosen a beautiful title DIL TOH PAGAL HAI (it sounds boring now due to constant repetition over the years, but was awesome when came original for the first time) for a funfilled movie that didn't took itself way too seriously, than for a full of emotions movie Jab tak hai jaan... hmm... maza nahi aaya

You love Iranian movies? My dad's a huge fan. He forced me to watch one and I did but I never watched anything else apart from that. I just hide whenever he bugs me about Iranian movies 😆

@Bold
You're right Tanya but the problem is like Rach mentioned, these titles rarely mean anything to movies nowadays. Although I have high regards to Yash Chopra, I don't know what's really behind a title of a flick

I dislike Dil toh pagal hai and it's one SRK movie I never want to watch again. Karisma was the only good thing abou that flick

I'm really hyper to watch this flick cuz it's been too long since I last saw Shah ☺️

I know many have disliked DTPH and called it a plastic movie (which was true though) but for some reason I liked it... it always kept me glued despite of all of its silliness..I find it energetic, colorful & entertaining

yeah he gave only duds after rnbdj (which was also not some great cinema) even an otherwise MNIK was not properly handled by Karan

not happy becoz its cheesy and it seems like a disappointing title as they waited so long...they could easily get a punching name for the film..but title mein kya rakha hai...even chak de india...sounded very cheesy lifted straight from 'chak de chak de' song from hum tum but the content was solid...so not giving much to the title...waiting for the content

yeah the word cheesy better describes the title. exactly they could've come with some really appealing, original and poetic beautiful name..yeh kya aik action masala movie ka mukhda hee mila thaa title rakhnay ko :(
