Attractive made an extremely racist comment. I have my reasons

Excuse me?! What racist comments did he make? And why did you have to call me names up there, when clearly neither was I responding to any of your posts, nor was I quoting your or taking digs at you in any possible way.

I went back and read the posts. Yes, what Attractive said was wrong. I will give you credit for that. But you could have politely called out on him, instead of calling him an idiot on the forum.

And in the past, you did attack me personally but I shook it off and moved on. But calling me names like attention seeking rat and what not, for no apparent reason, was totally uncalled for.

I did not say a word to you, I did not quote you, neither did I disrespect you on the thread in any way.

I have reported the matter to the mods. Thank you.

That would make sense except these practices happen in Punjab where the majority of the population is Sikh. Muslims don't do Rakhi or Karva Chauth, why do Sikhs?
The reason is Sikhism is majorly influenced by Hinduism. Sikh and Hindu inter-marriage is common. Sikh's and Hindu's don't think twice about visiting a temple or a gurudwara. Sikh's still get married under the Hindu Marriage act. Hell, all the Sikh saints were hindu. The two major thing's they opposed were idol worship and the caste system. Sadly, the caste system is more rampant in Sikhism today than Hinduism.
The biggest thing though is that Sikh's are converted Hindu's and not too long ago. The eldest son was made a Sikh in Punjab. There are still families that have one brother a Sikh and the others Hindu. This explains a lot of common surnames.

Its ignorant to hold such radical views in today's time and age.

It's not right to say that all the Guru's were Hindus.. yes their parents were but they themselves had complete different views and that's why Sikhism started. The major thing Sikhs oppose to is the existence of more Gods, we believe in one God and that's the biggest difference. And yes we indeed do not believe in idol worship and caste system. Sikhs and Hindus live peacefully together and a lot of times visit each others worship places but that doesn't mean we're the same.. although there are some people who believe in both the religions like Khatri's and Akshay Kumar is one of them.

Knock yourself out.

You felt the need to notify the mods, when you have nothing to do with this? WHY? I just gave you a reason to actually be able to contact the mods. 😃

Good! REPORTED.

Maddy and Mandy, please note. The above person is over confident in his antics. Instead of apologizing to people for calling them names and creating a ruckus, he's proud of his anti-social behavior. After Tanya.91, he's another great contender to hit the finish line. Please take an action.

Thank you.

I have posted another link as well that speaks about this topic. And yes, if more information is needed, the internet is a powerful tool. Just be careful about what you read online though. :)

Hinduism believes in one God too. Just different "avatars".

How was Sikhism started?

Was it not a trend for each family to make their eldest son a Sikh to join the Guru's army to fight the Mughal Invaders?

If two brothers can be Sikh and Hindu, how can the religions be completely different?

And Sikhism wasn't started till the 10th Guru. So the first 9 Gurus were Hindus.

You live in the past. Other than Idol worship, there really is no major difference.

Most of my friends are Sikh's and there really can't be any two religions that are more similar than Hinduism and Sikhism. Nobody is portraying the perfect Sikh. If everyone started being so sensitive, there would never be a film made.

Hi guess_who, yes I am living in the past. The past is the history of my people. We have gone through a lot to fight for our religion and others'. So yes, I am living in the past because I respect my religion and what the past Sikhs have done for us today. :) There are many differences between hinduism and sikhism. No doubt, Sikhism is an off-shoot from BOTH hinduism and Islam. Hinduism is a way of life. Sikhism is based on truthful living. Our beliefs are different. Our beliefs ABOUT God are different. Our weddings are different. Our language is different. Our history is different. Heck, even our attires are different. Our thoughts are different. Nobody needs to be a perfect Sikh. The perfect Sikhs came and went. Maybe if Sikhs had made a stand about being ridiculed in Indian movies before, we wouldnt be having this discussion today.

I've done a research paper on the religions of the east and done some massive research. Sikhism, like Hinduism, is based on Dharma and Karma. You can call it truth, the basis is the same. How different are the weddings? Hindu Temple and Sikh Temple. 7 phere and 4 phere. Punjabi is the language of Punjab spoken by Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs. History? Not really. People of the Punjab have the same history. The pagdi is worn by North Indian men everywhere, if that's what you mean by attire.from Rajasthan to Punjab. No two religions have the same surnames, except for Hinduism and Sikhism. Are they really different religions?
