Ek Tha Tiger expected to earn record-breaking Rs 200 crores

Bollywood News: Seems like Bollywood superstar Salman Khan does it again! After giving back-to-back super hits Wanted, Dabangg, Ready andBodyguard, he has hit the bull's eye once again with Ek Tha Tiger which has broken records of opening day collection by earning Rs.33 crores.

The romantic thriller released on Independence Day and trade pundits are expecting the collections to increase during the long weekend, thanks to Eid, which is Monday, and make more new records.

The Salman Khan & Katrina Kaif starrer film's cost is said to be above Rs.50 crores and Ek Tha Tiger marks director Kabir Khan's third collaboration with Yash Raj Films after Kabul Express in 2006 and New York in 2009. Rajesh Thadani, Multimedia Combines, Mumbai, says the film has received the highest opening ever.

"Salman's movie Ek Tha Tiger is doing very well all over. It has been the highest opening ever. In first two days, the film has collected around Rs.47 crores all over India. On the opening day, the film collected Rs.33 crores. It is the highest collection till date for any Indian film," Thadani told reporters.

"In Mumbai the film collected close to around Rs.17 crores on opening day. There is possibility that the film will break all records and collect Rs.200 crores," he added.

Vinay Choksey of VIP Exhibitors, Mumbai, seconds Thadani and said: "The film is expected to maintain the craze and the collections will go up during weekend." The film that revolves around an Indian secret agent named Tiger collected almost Rs.17 crores on the second day.

Anant Verma, director and business head of DT Cinemas, says "Ek Tha Tiger opened with 98 percent occupancy". "The movie is doing excellent business. There was a lot of hype about it because of which we have had 45 percent online and advance bookings," Verma told Reporters.

"From families to couples, college students to working class came to watch the movie and they are liking it. We are waiting for the weekend and expecting increased footfalls," he added.

Salman, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) officer, romances Katrina (Zoya), an Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agent in the film. "Ek Tha Tiger" shows the tumultuous journey of the dark world of intelligence that forbids its soldiers from falling in love. The story is by Aditya Chopra and the film's screenplay has been co-written by Kabir Khan and well-known journalist-turned-lyricist-writer Neelesh Misra.

Surprisingly, I actually liked the movie! I love the peace message it gives to Ind/Pak but the thing I loved the most is the fact that the female lead wasn't just standing there in every situation and waiting for the hero to come and save her like most of the Bolly movies.. she was actually helping herself out! She wasn't just standing there and watching "the tamasha" happen lol. Being an action movies fan I did like the action but expected a bit more.. After reading all the reviews here and there I never thought I would like it but I did. So I would recommend everyone to watch it atleast once :)

This is what i tried to,tell you and others that the heroine as much todo as the hero. So now would you like this movie to best 3 idiots are not? i told people this movie is a mobie that most Salman and

Katrina supporters will like, and SaL-KaT supporters like me will Will enjoy to,the max 😊👏

Watched it FINALLYY today and I swear I LOVED every single minute of it! The action, romance, and most of all SALMAN KHAN ROCKEDD!!! Needed a full on entertainment film and that's what I got! This totally beats Bodyguard and Ready lol, gonna go watch it again when I get the chance.

For a change I actually liked Katrina too, I think she was really good, she usually makes me cringe with her acting but she was great! I'm not saying this because she's paired with Salman lol, she was genuinely decent, oh and her action scenes were damn good!!

Watching Saiyaara on the big screen was just amazing...and now I think I'm gushing too much on it lol!

Caught it at last.

Liked it. But hv to admit im surprised at the mindblowing performance at Box office.

Didnt think it was a picture whisch would BREAK existing records. honestly.

This can only show Salman Katrina power. because the movie is all right.

not great. Had any other couple been in it, Akshay Sonakshi, Saif Kareena

SRK Deepika, it would NOT have packed the punch it has.

It would definitely hv done great business but nothing like right now.

Reason, the charisma of Salman and his aptitude at action and

acting, his looks and dancing, everything took Tiger to new heights.

And the off screen 'equation' with Katrina who as usual looks beautiful

except in one or two scenes where her cheeks looked really puffy,

she really was pleasing not to mention acted well and had a very

substantial role for an action movie. being a love story there was

lots of emoting too. this girl is improving by leaps and bounds.

If nothing else, the locales were extraordinary well shot. Cuba, Istanbul

Ireland - all untapped territory.

the songs added. every song was good and shot well, except katrinas

costumes could hv been better. they were pheeka. its a good things shes

so beautiful she doesnt need adornment.

But the most important thing was Salman. and the slick action.

When he came on the screen first with his back to the audience, looking

down at the city of 'Iraq', the hooting, whistling clapping had to be seen to

be believed.

and every time they showed him in slow motion doing an absurdly impossible

stunt, the audience instead of booing went crazy all over, clapping and hooting,

lol!

iattribute the success of this film to not 'the greatness of the film' like 3 I definitely

was, but to the combined efforts of YRF prodctns, who spared no expense,

the fresh locales, shot wonderfully, the slick action, to katrinas star power

and looks, and most of all to Salman, he WAS Ek Tha Tiger. u cant imagine

anyone else doing this. just like u cant imagine anyone else in Aamirs role

in 3 I. Kabir is a very astute director. he knows what is going to work with

the audience and gives it to them in 3D in a figure of speech. No wonder

New York worked. he knows his actors and how to draw best from them.

Salman may be over 40 or whatever, Doesnt matter. At this rate he is going to go

on for 10 more years. and have ladies and gents swooning all the way.

he guy obviously has good karma. nothing else explains the kind of success

this movie has. touch wood.

And looking at Katrina, especially now that her cheeks seem to hv come down

to normal, the lady has a lot of .years left in Bollywood at the top, if this movie

is any yardstick to go by.

Adding...the ending was a bit abrupt - and surprised me.

should hv ended with a bang or flourish. then again this is

the first time im seeing audience rootedto their seats, watching

Mashalla till the very end even tho it comes with the ending credits.

I don't know I and my brother didn't find the ending abrupt at all...I thought it was executed very well...and may be sequel was always an option for them thus, they didn't have the typical kind of endings that Bollywood movies have.
