My review for the movie is the following:

Ek Tha Tiger is the love story between RAW agent, Tiger (Salman Khan) He is the ideal agent and is successful in all of his cases. While undercover as Manish Chandra in Ireland, he meets the beautiful Zoya (Katrina Kaif). Despite the warnings of his friend, Gopi (Ranvir Shorey), Tiger goes ahead to show his for Zoya. But, Zoya doesn't accept his love. The plot takes a twist when Zoya is revealed to be a spy for the rival, ISI. What does Tiger do? Go through with his love or follow through with his duty?

Plot: 6/10
The plot for this movie seemed bland to me. Maybe it is because I have seen so many spy movies that I knew what was going to happen in the end. To me, it was predictable, nothing new to it, and honestly, I found myself falling asleep during some parts of the movie.

Direction: 7/10 There was extremely limited comedy and the action scenes were the highlight of the movie. This was Katrina's first time doing action scenes and she did wondrous! Salman, like always, did beautiful in the action scenes-- especially in the beginning.

The way the director captured the different countries was beautiful, I'll give Kabir Khan kudos for that.

Acting:
Salman Khan (Tiger) - 8/10 Salman played the role very well, as he always does. My problem was with the character. There were some points when I swore that there was some other person Salman Khan was playing, they looked like Tiger, but certainly didn't like act him. The character, in my opinion, was under-developed.

Katrina Kaif (Zoya) - 6.5/10 Katrina smiled and she made had some heart warming scenes. Though, her character wasn't as important as you'd think she is. While her character has a pivotal part in the role, the movie is centered more around Salman. Though, I have to say one thing. She did not look very beautiful in this role as she did in other roles. I read that she wasn't wearing makeup...bad choice, Kabir Khan. šŸ˜’

Ranvir Shorey (Gopi) - 8/10 Playing the supportive friend, Ranvir Shorey, did great. He, also, didn't have much of a role. He was only a supporting cast.

Music: 8.5/10 The main songs of the movie were "Mashallah", "Baanjara", and "Lapaata". These three songs lightened up the mood of the movie and overall, were good songs.

Box Office: Obviously, the movie has broken the first day and weekend record. First day it got a whooping 32 crores! And, throughout the whole weekend (which is Thursday and Friday's count because they count as the weekend), it made 57.85 crore. The Thursday and Friday shows had a dramatic decrease. On Thursday, it made 14.50 crore (an 18 crore drop!) On Friday, it made 12.12 crore! On it's Fourth day, it made 16.75 crore. While this is a lot of money, it is a huge decrease to the high expectations of the movie. It hasn't hit the 100 crore club or even 100 crores yet.

Looking at the rate that these movies are going down, the movie will continue to make money.

Overall: The movie was predictable, cliche, and nothing as it has been hyped to be. If you are a Salman or Katrina fan, go see this movie. If you like action, go see this movie! Nonetheless, go see the movie, but don't expect it to be super fantastic.

I'd give it a 7.5/10 which would be 3.5 stars!

Ek Tha Tiger 5 day Box Office Collections

Ek Tha Tiger is likely to fall agonisingly short of the 100 crore mark after 5 days at the box-office in India. Early estimates suggest that the film has crossed 20 crores on Sunday, taking the 5 day total to Rs 98 crore nett.

Ek Tha Tiger 5 Day Box Office Collections

  • Wednesday - 33 crores (31.25)
  • Thursday – 14.5 crores (14.5)
  • Friday – 13 crores (12.12)
  • Saturday – 16.75 crores (16)
  • Sunday – 21 crores (21) (estimate – will be updated)
  • Total – 98 crores (94.87)

Note: Since some have asked us to include Boxofficeindia figures, we have put them in brackets. The other figure is official (except the 5th day estimate)

To add to the historic 5 days in India, Ek Tha Tiger has done well in the overseas markets too. The film has collected Rs 16-17 crores in the first extended weekend (released in US, UK, UAE, Australia on Wednesday, rest of the countries on Thursday). The ban in Pakistan meant that ETT lost around 6-7 crores.

Worldwide 5 day total is 113 – 114 crores.(estimate – will be updated)
