why the heck are people shoving their weight around, telling people what they should say if they call themselves fans, telling people who don't like someone that their opinions have no weight because they're simply biased for life

I was avoiding posting here because I haven't seen the movie, and even if I had, and had I posted an honest review, it would've been trashed, alongside myself.

But I can't believe fellow fans are treated this way too.

Sunday Total Box Office Collection of Ek Tha Tiger

Ek Tha Tiger Weekend Collection Report

As we all know that the world is of Salman Khan or we can say that "Salman world" almost all Indians are fans of Salman Khan either from lower class middle class or higher class all are the big fans of Salman khan as expected all show are already booked before one week, there is 100% occupancy in all multiplex and theaters all over the India.

Since the box office collections of Ek Tha Tiger dropped steadily on Thursday and Friday, after a record-breaking start on Wednesday, the trade and especially Salman Khan fans were anxiously waiting to see if the film picks up today.

The good news is, the evening shows had much better occupancy on Saturday, and the advance booking for the night shows (after 9PM) is very good, with several shows sold out in advance. Note: Only multiplexes, as we couldn't track the single-screen business today.

Ek Tha Tiger Noticed a Jump in Saturday Collections at the Box Office. The figure is coming higher than the previous two days.

First Day Wednesday Opening Box Office Collection of Ek Tha Tiger is 32 cr+

Second day Thrusday box office collection of Ek Tha Tiger is 15 cr +

Third day Friday Box Office Collection of Ek Tha Tiger is 17 cr+

Saturday Box Office Collection of Ek Tha Tiger is 16 cr+

Total Four Day collection of Ek Tha Tiger 80 cr+

Estimate Collection of Ek Tha Tiger on Sunday

The Collections will be higher due to the good advance for the evening shows, which guarantees a jump in overall occupancy. Major Multiplexes, are 60-70% full. And Current Bookings would surely make them 100%. Although, Single Screens aren't as good as Multiplexes. Mass Centers are looking to Pick up after the Month of Ramzan is over.

5th Day(Sunday) Box Office Collection of Ek Tha Tiger- 21 cr+

  • Highest Opening Day beating Agneepath
  • Highest Single Day Collections beating Ra.One

Review: 'Ek Tha Tiger' lacks content

Review: 'Ek Tha Tiger' lacks contentGayatri Sankar

What would you expect when Salman Khan, Kabir Khan and Yash Raj Films team up- a super masala entertainer, right?

'Ek Tha Tiger' looked very promising prior to its release and the film does entertain you to an extent but also compels you to wonder if you truly want to ridicule your intelligence.

After 'Wanted', 'Dabangg' and 'Bodyguard', 'Ek Tha Tiger' - yet another Eid release of Salman Khan - might just make it to the Rs100 crore club, courtesy his incredible fan following and an intriguing first half. But the film sadly falls in the same trap like other Salman films which lack content.

Salman Khan plays Tiger, a code name given to him by Research & Analysis Wing (RAW) of India. But the role of an intelligence officer has been manipulated to the core to befit a masala entertainer!

After a successful mission in Iraq, Tiger is now entrusted with the task of collecting external intelligence by spying on a Trinity College Professor, who has apparently been approached by the ISI for sharing missile technology secrets.

Tiger flies down to Dublin, the Irish capital, to follow the Professor. And that is where he ends up meeting his ladylove (Zoya) Katrina Kaif, the professor's residence caretaker. Tiger introduces himself as Manish Chandra, a writer, and seeks her help in getting an appointment with the professor.

Zoya extends all possible help to a shelter-less Manish and befriends him. And that is when seeds of romance are sowed!

Though Tiger knows that he is on a mission and he dare not fall in love, he loses his heart to Zoya, who could act as a catalyst in providing information about the professor. Tiger is constantly reminded of his duties by Gopi (Ranvir Shorey), his colleague, not to lose his heart while on a mission but he does approve of Tiger's choice of a Bhabhi for him!

Zoya, who also happens to be a dance instructor, invites Tiger for a show and here is where you would find a twist in the tale!

After an incredible 'Kabul Express' and somewhat gritty 'New York', a masala entertainer like ETT wasn't expected from director Kabir Khan. Yash Raj Films has certainly spent a whopping amount on the exotic locations that are a treat to watch but haven't helped the film gain a cult status.

However, the film does have superbly directed action sequences, foot-tapping songs by Sohail Sen and Sajid-Wajid, and a tinge of Salman Khan's special comedy that does make you cheer.

And mostly importantly, though Salman and Katrina deny being in a relationship in real life, their chemistry onscreen looks every bit convincing. And the duo is an absolute delight to the eyes!

But over all, the film does disappoint you for it fails to deliver what it promised.

If you are a Salman Khan fan, you would love it for sure and the movie might rake-in the moolah because of the superstar! It will certainly entertain you if you leave your brains outside the theatre!

When 'Ek Tha Tiger' sent wrong signals…

Disclaimer: This blog contains spoilers. So, if you haven't watched 'Ek Tha Tiger' yet, please do not read any further.

I had pre-booked my 'Ek Tha Tiger' ticket almost a month back and was eagerly waiting for the film to make a splash on the silver screen on Independence Day. The Salman Khan fan in me was perhaps roaring louder than the 'Tiger' himself and I could do little but surrender to the man's aura that often reflects both on and off screen. I was thrilled, super excited and in awe.

The film opened to a jam-packed audience, most of which included Salman'ianites' who welcomed their idol with huge thunder of applause and squeaky sounds of whistles. And I, as a true Salman fan, enjoyed every moment of the sheer enthusiasm that swept the cinema hall!

But as the film unfolded, my ecstasy turned into agony and I was left deeply hurt wondering if I really wanted to question my intelligence and my sense of nationalism! The film turned out to be a mockery of the Indian and Pakistani intelligence services that keep working round the clock to serve their respective nations.

Coming from a filmmaker like Kabir Khan, known for his sensibilities and impeccable expertise on realism, I couldn't imagine he was the captain of a 'sinking' ship like ETT. I have been in awe of his method of treating films. Khan's first feature film, 'Kabul Express', a film shot under huge threat in a ravaged Afghanistan soon after the US attack, was a cult film in my view. Everything was apt, prim and proper. But ETT compelled me to wonder if he is the same Kabir Khan!

ETT, touted as a blockbuster much ahead of its release, couldn't prove to be a gift to Indians on the day the country was freed of its slavery 66 years ago. I wanted and hoped the film to be a treat to watch on a day that would make every Indian proud. But alas! I was hopelessly left clueless and pained.

Here's recalling a patriotic number from a classic film titled 'Shaheed':

'Aye Watan aye watan humko teri qasam teri rahon mein jaan tak luta jayenge
Phool kya cheez hai teri kadmon mein hum bhent apne saron ki chadha jayenge'
(We swear by you our dear motherland; we would give away our lives for you. Flowers aren't something that we would want to offer to you, when we are more than willing to get beheaded for your sake!)

Doesn't it bring goose bumps when you hum these lines? Doesn't your throat get choked on hearing such inspiring and soulful song? We have had a number of patriotic films that are awe inspiring and that deal with innumerable ways of showing love for the motherland. And a film like ETT ridicules the selfless sacrifices of thousands of revolutionaries and freedom fighters; and the purpose of having intelligence agencies.

ETT could have perhaps taken a leaf out of the books of one of the classic patriotic films made earlier or even gotten inspired by real life RAW officials, who don't contemplate ending their lives for the country.

I admit there can be madness. But there has to be a method to it. Filmmaking does give one the liberty to add fantasy to fiction but dealing with sensitive issues mindlessly cannot be excused.

RAW and ISI are portrayed as mute spectators at the end of the film, who can't punish their traitors. The agents are shown standing witness to lawlessness and breach of conduct and there's no duty-bound official to stop the wrong doing.

The filmmakers might have intended to lay more emphasis on romance but could have justified it in a more responsible way. Tiger, the character turns out to be a self-centered RAW agent at the end, who doesn't mind kicking his job for love. And hence for me the title 'Ek Tha Tiger' looks apt, as I am afraid had he been existing now; he wouldn't have been spared by the responsible citizens of the country.

The film has redefined ethics, morality, trust, nationalism and duty in a way that is nothing but shamelessly filmi !

I certainly did not expect ETT to open on Independence Day this way! Blind followers of Salman Khan might heap praises but the film conveys a wrong message that might just undo all what our real heroes have done for the country so far.

I am completely disillusioned. I would rather be true to myself than try to please someone who I am otherwise a fan of.

well his life saving amounted to around $47,000... how long can one last with that amount? 😆.. with all that flying, rent, utility bills etc, and i guess they can't keep it in a bank either because you're always on the run.. 😆
