He's highly underrated.

I think he embodies elegance and class. I have never heard being an ass to someone, or acting out of line. Or getting caught of an sort of scandals.

As an actor, I would equate him to Colin Firth when it comes to emoting expressions and dialogues. He doesn't underplay the part like Abhi or over-play like Salman. He's subtle, but effective--even in his comedies, he's the perfect tone. That's how I describe him...balance perfection. Plus, he doesn't need to steal the thunder from anyone and he's secure in his role--again qualities I associate with Colin Firth.

I wouldn't call him my favorite actor, but he's what I call a Great actor and BW doesn't deserve him, he was always meant for better things, but I guess he's not an over-achiever or workaholic.

I believe i e read that Akshaye in fact does not have a PR team and hes not overly fond of promotions. Basically his mantra is to do the work and then disappear. Which is great, keeps the public interested and the mystery only helps during promotions,

he is soo underrated.. bt I had mad crush on him aftr seein him in border... he was just sooo cute in it. Even though Sunny n Suniel were there bt my eyes never turned away frm him n apart frm dat luvd him in DCH, Humraaz, Hulchul n Race 2... he is very versatile... can do romance, negative role or serious roles like in my father Gandhi.

Even in a horrible movie like TMK... he kept me entertained, n not to mention da onli one who actually acted in dat film.

Bwood doesnt recognize his talent... cz as dey say subtle actors in bwood dunt go dat far... sad bt true

Yes, he's really old HW like that. Again, I see so many parallels between him and Colin. But I think I read somewhere that he didn't want to be promoted as Vinod Khanna's son b/c then all of his hard work would be meaningless if the audience thought it was all out of nepotism. Too bad he never dated anyone "scandalous"--that would kept the mystery going. He was too simple for BW.

I absolutely love him! liverach is right, no one ever talks about him so thanks for this topic 😃

He's a brilliant actor, and his talent stood out even in films like Hungama and Hulchul. His was my favorite character in DCH, and he played it so brilliantly. It suited him very well as well. Besides, he can be a pretty convincing villian too. Humraaz was watchable only because of him.

I wish he did more films instead of vanishing without trace :(

fudgee this topic is gonna make me watch all these Akshay Khanna movies, he worked in the bit of 90s that I'm real fond of in retrospect...

not that I had much of a rollicking life back then 😆

He is awesome!! Someone I could say who could emote myriad of emotions and intensity without looking fake.So sad that Bwood doesn't cast him anymore. I loved him in all of his movies that I have seen..the shady character that he played in Humraaz and Race or a jerk in Aa ab laut chalein.. those cute expressions won me over. 😆 DCH has had to be his best role ever though.

Thanks for opening a thread on him. He is one of the few who deserved much more than what he received. Even Rahul Bose for that matter. But he didn't have chocolate boy looks like Akshay Khanna had so that could be one reason. I think the last commercial movie that AK did was Tees Maar Khan and Farah gave him some stupid role from what I saw in promos.. haven't seen that movie so no idea.
