Why do fans get so personal and touchy?

Stating that you love an actor is alright, but going out of your way to bash the ones having different opinions is... 😆

Some members get insulted when a member criticizes their favorite actors, and may outright start a fight, but there are members that get personal.. may not necessarily pick a fight, I dont understand even such mentalities. It cracks me up when I see members getting personal TBH 😆

I think more than ANYTHING. Members here have to respect the other's opinion. If A criticizes B's favorite actor, B should just not pay any attention to it... people should realise that everyone has their own opnions on things, and must learn to respect that.

A discussion makes sense, a discussion that too with VALID realistic points.

Rubbing each one's opinions on one another and then getting personal is again stupid, I dont believe in arguing with people of different opinion in real-life only...and in the virtual world 😆 I cant even think of arguing with someone unless they make sense, unless I see that there's something useful my opposite party could offer to me or, unless we could share each other's opinions and respect each other for that.

Bashing and all is SO stupid. Opening topics JUST to criticize a celebrity is beyond my understanding. Even the members that I used to think were sensible, get into bashing baselessly against the celebrity they hate 😆 Most of the times people bash baselessly, at someone's english, at someone's hindi, at someone weight... now these are too silly and make absolutely no sense. And when they come up with such baseless topics, it adds more fuel to the on-going arguments with the ones supporting the celeb on whom the topic is made. 😆

I also have a feeling that most of these people who pick fights, who bash the other person's fav actor etc etc, just want some timepass, fun, etc 😆 ...and clearly, the ones who make senseless and baseless topics on someone's weight, someone's hindi, someone's IQ, someone's face ... these people, IMHO, just want some timepass and want to be entertained. 😆

SHAK, the "rabid" soap sections are SOO pleasant 😲 I sometimes visit Devon Ka Dev, Bade Achche Lagte Hai, etc etc... the atmosphere over there is so pleasant and matured. Atleast every time I visit, it's nice on those forums, and even if there's an argument going on, it's carried out peacefully and in a non-personal manner..

I think this plays for both sides of the coin- over the last few months I have also seen some of the cynics get obsessive to the point of singling out a few actors and fans. Obsessiveness is just not a trait for fans, it is also for cynics.

from personal experience of being a cynic for the longest time, I can understand that sometimes things do get to you. And when that happens its better to take a break and come back refreshed and trust me that does wonders.

It seriously makes no difference when we go on and on about some one we like or someone we dont. At the end of the day most of us are adults and have strong opinions. An internet forum is not likely to change it.

Fans dont like it when their favourites are bashed and haters dont like it when people who they dont like are praised.!

Both need to understand. Just 24/7 calling fans stupid wont help.

Dont the haters too bash somebody who doesnt even know them?

Then why cant fans be obsessed over somebody who doesnt know them?

Everybody has their opinion, if they want to be touchy fans let them be so!

At the end of the day, both need to understand that hating or loving is not going to give them anything. Atleast fans are happy with loving their starts but what satisfaction do people get by hating?

PS- There is nobody with a neutral opinion in this forum anymore. They are all just fans or haters thats it.😆

i would agree with all that you've said except for the last bit.

There ARE neutral members, and call me out for this, but LOTS of fans have accused neutrals of being haterzzz

I'm absolutely sick of that word, and I'm sick of being called a cynic because I don't share the same love for someone as does a fan.

I am well aware of the haters that are being talked about here, but aside from them, there are neutral members, or members who have more pespective.

It shouldn't be their fault, that their comments are interpreted as hate.

Agree, I don't understand why people protected their beloved celebrity more than their own chills. I mean they even don't know your existence , neither they care of you now going to give a one rupee out of their income.

Its ok to love or like celebrity but its dangerous when celebrity become your world and you don't see beyond them, And I have always seen on IF that if you're a fan of salman than you automatically become enemy of shahrukh and aishwariya, same for PC vs Kareena, Sonam vs deepika. I mean can't we like both and appreciate them when they do good work and scold them when they have done something wrong .

I respect your view but I havent seen a neutral member here for a long while. I agree there are some but the number is very very less.

But mostly there are some people who join only to bash. They arent fans of any actor/actress. They are just here to bash and are misunderstood as neutral members.

Most of the real neutral ones have left I guess. There are some of them still here though and its sad when they get bashed.

Anyhow sorry if I said anything disrespectful!:)
