After all they don't go to movies (let's forget all that we hear constantly about "My mom loves SRK and makes us all go to see his new film" It's obvious these moms are all 23 tops and the writers are extremely precocious 3 year olds)
Anyway only young people feel or deserve to feel or be loved and since all we make are love stories---well you do see the roots of our little problem.
But at least we can forgive SRK for not being in his 20s to mid 30s as long as we can rest assured that the only FEMALES worthy of love are in their prime childbearing years it's all good. 👍🏼

I think the point people were trying to make earlier is that he's playing a character much, much younger than his age. Clearly, these 40-year old actors look like idiots when they're trying to pass of as 20-somethin' year olds in their movies. The point is not that older people can't fall in love, but rather that actors/actresses need to be casted appropriately, with their ages and appearances in mind in order to make the movie more credible. So the excessive rant in the name of sarcasm is unnecessary.

I'm impressed by your confidence to tell someone that their opinion is unnecessary on a public forum which is, I believe, open to all different points of view. Some of which are rarely heard and might, if heard, open ever more avenues of discussion and thought.
I agree with you abut the fact that 40 something actors look silly playing much younger roles but if those are the only (or the majority) of roles being created and if 40 something year old actors want to work as ALL actors of all ages invariably do----the problem will recur, and frequently.
So the realization that all movies, all roles and all plots need NOT be geared to the early 20 something audience and that there are in fact many people out there who are or WOULD BE interested in other types of roles and films were they created doesn't seem unnecessary at all in my opinion.
So I guess what we have is a difference of opinion.
And that's fine too,.

There's no need to get offended. I did not say your opinion was unnecessary, I said your sarcasm was unnecessary. Public forums are designed to encourage members to share their thoughts with others, but sometimes discussions can and should involve disagreements.

I actually agree with what you said. Why Bollywood thinks every single movie out there needs to portray 20-year old protagonists is beyond me. However, I will say that Bollywood does run on notions of young love and 40-year olds are usually not suited for those roles. If Bollywood writers put some thought into raising serious issues that exist among middle-aged people/couples, they would be able to bring more to the table.

It is NOT just age factor but the type of movie also matters..

Aamir was a student in 3I ...but NOT as a lover boy but someone who is dealing issues ...heroine in that film is there thats all...story DOES NOT revolve around her..

Look at all his contemporaries..Sallu does romance with kat but kat was not even shown in the ETT promo..

Ajay, even Akshay for that matter..(i loathe him -___-) s

Forget older stars even ranbir, emran they try diff films most of the time...

maybe it will work..if it does god help us..he will be casted with parineeti or that bhat daughter in his next..-____-

shahrukh is an actor, he is just playing a character and that does not mean that he has to be the actor. What people are forgetting is that this movie is just for entertainment, its not a documentary or a reality event where everything has to be true. Wait for the movie, we don't even understand the plot, we don't even know the name...so its quite a premature thing to say that "he isn't playing his age" when we don't even know what his age is supposed to be in the movie in the first place. Sometimes i feel people take films to seriously and become one of those critics that judge a comedy movie on the level of social issues it highlights...its a movie!!! he is an actor!! one of the best actors, and i am sure he will be able to pull it off...
