because we have to convert it into a good script, worry about the script more than actors and still have a winner

which never happens

Because someone needs the conviction and the money and the right balance between sensibility and creativity... I hope some big production company produces a Mahabharta someday which gets Indian cinema global recognition.. the stories in our mythology are so many, just waiting to be told!

I will.Salman does not need item numbers his movies Have done well on his name.

On topic: I Think its audiences taste. yet, movies like rang de Basanti or a Gaddar worked and though not based on religious history. But patriotism have worked.

I think movies on mythology can work given time and patience. They might not be block busters but can work. I think we just need writers that believe in thir script and can somehow reach the masses.
I mean they Work on tv so why not ?

If B.R.Chopra with Same Cast would have made a Movie on Mahabharat with compact 3 hr script, it would have done wonders. Cast of TV EPIC Mahabharat was phenomenal. 👏

Exactly...I agree with you once again. But it will be tough to create 3hrs package to have similar effect.
