Deepika's long locks bag her Rs 5 cr deal
Actress Deepika Padukone not only has long legs enhancing her glamorous appeal but even has silky and long locks, which beautify her appeal.
Ever since she turned towards the field of modeling and later switched on to Bollywood, people close to her have been asking the leggy beauty to get rid of those long hair locks and get them trimmed. However, ignoring all the suggestions that came her way, Deepika kept on flaunting their shine off. And thanks to her decision, today the locks have helped her bag a deal worth Rs 5 crore.
As heard, after doing a market research campaign, a renowned coconut hair oil company has signed Deepika to be their brand ambassador. One of the sources said, "Deepika, who has always been very health conscious, is also very particular about her hair. That's also why her long locks have been given due importance in the various looks she has portrayed in her brand commercials. So, while the hair care brand had listed her name among the top stars to endorse their product range, the survey results based on public opinion further reaffirms that people feel the same too."
Well, that's quite an interesting deal we say and just hope that this will inspire other actresses also to take care of their long locks!

Jet set go
Deepika Padukone is too busy to even gulp down a cup of steaming hot coffee. She has just returned from Manali, and hasn't found time to unpack her suitcases. O Despite having returned just two hours before, she's looking as fresh as a dew-soaked daisy. In Manali, the diva was shooting for friend Ayan Mukerji's film Ye Jawani Hai Deewani (YJHD). She's quite gung ho about the project and begins to chirp nice things about it, "Most of the people in the unit are young and hence there is a campus like atmosphere. Our first schedule was fabulous." Deepika is quite adventurous and cajoled her co-stars to go on a trek. "We got a few days off during the shoot. Ranbir (Kapoor), Aditya (Roy Kapur), Kalki (Koechlin) and I went on treks. It was fun!"
Mere paas Dharma hai
Working with Dharma Productions is a dream come true for the actress as she was besotted by the banner ever since she was a little girl. It's all about believing in your dreams, as they say. "As a child, I used to think, if only I could be part of a Dharma film. In the last four years, whenever Karan Johar announced a new film, I would think, 'Why didn't he sign me for it?' And one day, suddenly I got a call from Karan, and he told me that he wanted to meet me for a film which Ayan was directing. I am happy that I am a part of YJHD."
Moving on
In an actor's profession, one never knows when one comes face to face with one's past. Actors live in a constant state of dj vu. And Deepika has sort of experienced this. Her profession and destiny have brought her face to face with the man whose name is still tattooed on her nape. She sighs and says she's moved on, and so has Ranbir. "We're happy being where we are. If we were uncomfortable with each other, we wouldn't have worked together on this film. Right? Whatever has passed is past. Now we are friends."
Single blessedness
The actress changes tracks and announces out of the blue that she's single. She giggles at my bewildered expression. "Yes, you've heard this right. I am SINGLE." It's best not to get your blood up, as she douses the ardour of a million hot-blooded males by declaring that she's definitely NOT ready to mingle. "I'm under no pressure at all to be with somebody. I'm enjoying this phase of my life. Being in a relationship is a state of mind in any case."
Soap opera
From speculating about her relationships, we move to speculation of a different kind. There have been rumours that she's been paid '5 crore to endorse a soap brand. She reacts to it all with a touch of sang froid. "I'm getting whatever is my brand value. I'm not comfortable talking about money. I'm the face of that particular product, and my job is to be the bridge between the consumer and the brand. I'm happy that the brand is also happy with this association." Saying everything without giving away nothing, that's being ambassadorial alright.
Southern sonata
Deepika Padukone has just signed a Tamil film, Kochadaiyaan opposite Tamil Superstar Rajnikanth. Is the ad deal a windfall of her being the new Rajni heroine? "I don't know. I don't think you can call it the effect of one film. I have done so many films in my career and this seems to be the result of all of them put together." A lot of actresses must be jealous about Deepika's good fortunes as Rajnikanth himself suggested her name to his daughter Saundarya, who is producing the film. The actor marvels at her good fortune. "Rajni sir is a humble man. He asked me to be a part of Kochadaiyaan, which was a matter of great honor for me. I am eagerly looking forward to work with him."
Deepika considers herself lucky that she's managed to work with not one but two 'sooper' stars ' Rajnikanth and star of the millennium Amitabh Bachchan. She's humbled by the fact that she's breathed the same air as her icons. She trills like Christmas has come early for her, "No doubt it is an achievement for me. I worked with Amitji in Aarakshan. He played my father in the film. Now, I am working with Rajni sir. More than an achievement, it is a dream come true for me. We have grown up following the works of these legends."
According to her, comments coming in from friends and family may be biased, but those of strangers actually are neutral. A source was quoted saying, "There are many nasty comments but she laughs it off and takes them in her stride. Deepika wants to better herself as an actor and is a firm believer of constructive criticism."
