Just tune into news channels. On every channel there is some debate and discussion going on about how to make this country a better place, but his fans are making it look like his show is the first to do something like this.
And he is bringing awareness? Will that help eradicate these evils??? I dont think so. Almost every Indian knows people kill female foetuses because they want male heirs. Almost every Indian knows of child sex abuse. HECK, most of us were victims of that as kids. So what will he do with awa reness? Nothing. If he can do something he should do something to eradicate it. And u cannot eradicate something by sitting and discussing it on a weekend show on a TV channel.
amir wants to say this through this show "Look no other star cares about the country but I do because I am gr8!" Enough of this fake publicity stunt to enhance his image.

Atleast the show makes people think about these issues every Sunday.People who used rather spend time sleeping on a Sunday or going out for a movie at 11 AM is atleast discussing the show and the topic these days after watching it,and I am an example myself.

@red-isn't he trying at the end of each show?Tell me,how many schools actually make their students aware about child sexual abuse and which all parts of their body shouldn't be touched by anyone?Did someone tell me where shouldn;t people touch when i was small?No.If he,through a medium of mass communication is organizing a workshop to people in cities and villages(through DD) where there might not even be psychologists organizing such workshops,what's the harm?And lets face it,we all love drama,we all love emotions and we all love visual entertainment.If the show is giving a mixture of both drama and awareness,what's wrong in that?

@blue-Don't know about how great he is,but isn't it true that he is the only one who actually thought about bringing a reality show in its literal meaning?Tell me,which star cared to do such a thing on tv before?All the stars would do is donate money they earned playing KBC or through whatever their fans earned in that Sony show Sabse Bada Superstar or something.

whats wrong with raising awareness? Its enlightening to those who live abroad too. In the female foeticide episode, a public survey was carried out, and almost everyone who took part in that survey expressed that female foeticide only took place within 'remote villages', amongst' illiterate people'. They tried to insinuate that only remnants of infanticide remained within India. Well we know now, that they were completely wrong. Female foeticide is not only rife within the remote areas, it's widespread within the entire country. Amongst theeducated folks too.

The way that people react to Aamir Khan being paid you would think that he is taking money from the victims of the issues that he highlights.

Aamir Khan is being paid by a huge television network because they expect he will earn them money. They in turn get money from advertisers who pay to have their advertising done during his show and they will pay a lot of money for that privilege. So why on earth would he work for free? It's not as if the victims are goign to get paid by the TV network if Aamir Khan doesn't get paid.

He is hardly robbing anyone if he gets paid alot. If he had decided to do a game show and was getting paid teh same amount by the television network no-one would blink but for some reason because his show actually highlights issues in the country people would rather he not get paid for it. I'm baffled by this thinking.

Awareness of social issues is more important and effective than what Aamir can do alone!
