Well, according to my friends at the American Institute for Cryptozoology:

She is believed to be off the land in the backwoods---killing animals for food and skinning them with her trusty buck knife.

Some folks claim to have seen her-a shambling figure, walking upright, but she's more like a legend in these parts

Kind of like the chupacabra.
