^i agree! Kahani which started on a slow note is now a superhit, and its purely on WOM!

as i say, over publicity is not a plus! look at kareena's EMAET and now AV also doesnt look impressive!

the point is; when the movie itself is flawed and most importantly when a character has been added in forcefully just to add masala and mujras then surely it wont go well with people who want to enjoy sensible thrillers like kahani!

and yes i guess the desi-theory which was being implied to justify EMAET not doing too well and MBKD doing well here goes wrong as well! A mujra was included to add that desi tarka in this spy thriller yet it couldnt attract crowd!

may be its time producers should take audience seriously and kahani has proved a good movie sells itself!

See this is exactly what I was talking about..he should have just gone with Sriram's vision and not mess with it. exactly! the movie is not doing well because it is not made according to a vision...but because Saif wanted to please his insecure girlfriend Kareena..thankgod Imtiaz Ali did not succumb to the pressure and stayed with Deepika for the movie! the director should stick to their vision..and stop adding things..just because the actor wants it or because it does not match a particular formula for the movie to be a hit! there is no right and wrong..if people stick to their instincts..there is a better chance for the movie to work!

While DNA India gave it 3.5, IndiaGlitz 3.5

The critics reviews are as varied as audience reaction.

Come on, 10.15 crores, that says something.

Now the rest depends on the film itself and script, but no one can say that Kareena & Saif dont pull in crowds!

The film made it to Kareena's Top 5 Openers, beating Golmaal 3!

1. Bodyguard (2011)- 20.66 crore (FIRST DAY RECORD at the time)

2. Ra.One* (2011) - 14.76 crore

3. Three Idiots (2009) - 13.00 crore (FIRST DAY RECORD at the time)

4. Golmaal 3 (2010) - 8.72 crore

Haha, i really hope it works for u Desigal!

coz like u said, if this one flops too they'll sign alot more movies together in case of getting that one hit as a couple! but i agree, romantic is their genre, why all these action flicks man! they werent even shown romantically in the promos at all!
