Fanaa WILL NOT be screened in Gujarat

The Gujarat BJP youth wing has said that it would not allow any Aamir Khan film to be screened in the state until he apologizes for supporting the Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA).

The BJP had previously agitated against the actor when he expressed solidarity with Medha Patkar and the NBA.

"We did not allow the screening of Rang De Basanti in Gujarat after he (Aamir Khan) visited the NBA in New Delhi. Now, we will not allow his forthcoming film Fanaa to be screened anywhere in the state," said Shankar Chaudhary, President BJP youth wing.

He further added that "we will request the Gujarat Multiplex Association and Cinema Association not to screen any film of Aamir Khan in their theaters."

In response, the Gujarat Multiplex Association has decided not to screen Fanaa in multiplexes across the state.

"This decision has been taken after a meeting of 22 members of our association comprising representatives from different multiplexes," said Manubhai S Patel, the President of the Gujarat Multiplex Association. (With PTI inputs)
