Low fare??? I dont think besides Spice and Indigo, these other airlines can be called low fare. They hike their prices up to 12-15,000 and even 18,000 for a trip b.w Mumbai Delhi or Pune Delhi etc and that too even when there is a whole gap of a week for the day we travel on. They even go such a low extent as cancelling your ticket even if you're on time ONLY because they already sell your ticket to another person at a higher price during holiday times. When Delhi's T3 had opened up, I didn't knew it was the first day of the airport and as many as 30/40 passengers tickets got cancelled if not more only because they had already sold tickets to other people and then they raised the price upto 27,000-30,000!!! Insane much? I even remember this one aunty was saying that at this cost I can travel to England come back. That was the day when all the customers went against these private airlines in India and the government intervened and set the prices acc. to the timings of bookings. Otherwise, these airlines were charging as much as they would like to whenever they liked. I paid 41000 for a 2hr trip from Delhi to Pune for 2 passengers myself to get the evening 4pm flight that ALSO after being told endless times that there is absolutely no flight from any airlines for Delhi Pune or Delhi Mumbai which was ofcourse a lie.. all u had to do was find the right person and they would get you the ticket at sky rocket prices. Last year was a fight between customers and the private airlines only because of the way they were charging like crazy just to pay their own loans they have from government.

Yes, customers misbehave as well but the staff at the airport and crew on board isnt any good either in Air India and Kingfisher. Other flights are better. Indigo airhostess face have same stiff expressions but they aren't rude atleast.

Now here is the REAL person behind Kingfisher's success. He is the MAN and thats why Siddy boy is still just a boy. This is the way a businessman behaves. And the way Sid behaves is the way kids behave. I gave my complaint as well to his personal email address that is available to all customers when I had a very bad experience at Kingfisher and it was indeed taken care of. Siddy boy has a long way to go I believe.

In India the higher authorithies will not notice or will not take action until you make some noise... If the Takias had gone and complained in the consumer forum or with the Kingfisher office would the Chairman of the company take note or would he take notice... Nah... Would the consumer forum bother... Nah... they get millions of complains everyday... The Takia's complain too would have been one among those millions of complains...

Look at this now... The Chairman is taking notice...The case will definitely be looked into... Action will be taken... Few heads will roll...

And yes an added bonus too for Ayesha Takia... She wasnt in the news this much even when she was in the movies... She has become the face of consumer complains... Smart move by the Takias to take their ranting to twitter...

Twitter has become both a bane and a boon...

Mallya shld just make Ayesha Takia the ambassador of Kingfisher airlines... 😆

This is not related much to what happened but I feel like sharing it to tell how these flights functions at times. Personal experience . I MYSELF witnessed it when I had an important test to give in college and hence had to travel the same day of the test from Delhi to Pune. Even during that time, apparently no flights were available and we were trying for a bolling from about 5/6 days before the day I was to travel. This guy my dad knew had contacts inside the airport because he used to work there previously I think and Dad had asked him if he could get to know whether there was actually no tickets telling him that it was extremely important for his daughter to go because of the test. So he said to Dad that he can get the ticket for me and to meet us at the airport on the day I was to travel. We reached the airport and we thought he'll give us the tickets there. But o boy no, did he had other plans. He showed us the ticket and it had some random name on it and the travelling date was of May sometime where as the month was March(when I was tavelling). AND, the ticket was of JET AIRWAYS. He told us to wait outside while he went in and I along with my parents were wondering what he'll do. He came out after some 15 minutes and voila, there he was with a brand new ticket with MY name, the DATE of that day I was travelling on and and and, the ticket had magically changed from a ticket of Jet Airways to a ticket of King Fisher. Yes, Magic I tell you. My parents and I were shocked. We were wondering at how did that happen. And all I could think was that perhaps someone had been ripped off of their ticket. I felt extremely bad and had thought about it throughout the flight journey and I was imaging about the view when that other person would reach the airport for his flight only to know that he won't get to board it. I was very sad because I knew that it had happened to me myself as well not once or twice but a couple of times where my ticket was sold to someone else at a high price and I would have to come back from airport.
My dad consoled me and said its ok because we didn't know it would go this way and then all we could do was be amused at the level of corruption in our country. When I feel bad about being ripped off, I could well imagine how that other person would have felt. I said to Dad that we are never doing this again ever.
Trust something like this to happen in India. Maybe abroad also? Who knows. All I know is that its sad and it doesn't seem likely to be changing in the coming years given the rapid rise of corruption with each passing day.

Btw abt KF I have good experiences with them. In one flight I remember their pilot of another flight was travelling as my co-passenger. He kept me entertained thruout the flight and I learnt a lot on how airlines function from him.

In another instance I was going for an urgent appointment to another city by KF and I almost missed the flight thanks to the traffic etc etc. The ground staff got into action and helped me finally board it.

Actually Air India is not that bad anymore, it has become lot more professionals. Yes they still wear saree but there are not middle aged aunties that muhc. My friends rtegualryl travel from delhi to frankfurrt using Ai. Its cheap and good.

just recently( december 2011) my parents and sister went from kolkata to delhi via an Air India flight and they had quite a pleasant experience, from on board service to nice cabin crew.

I personally like trains and try to take trains if i have time.
