He was good in 90s though there were no awesome performances in to his credit. He was good and even better than SRK in KKHH, thts it.

After 2000 what the heck happened?

He is charming no matter whjat? but actor?

agree he was awesome in Tere naam and good in Heroes and some portions of London Dreams, avg in CCC. and disaster in every movie between 2000-2008 with random jumping nd poker faces and babyish acting. No wonder why his movies had become disasters one after another.

Some how his persona matched perfectly to Dabang and its a good performance and a FRESH movie. After that success, he chose to do remakes which get finished in 2 months. I dare to see such a non actor still.

In BG, he has only 2 faces through out the film, one is the angry one and the other one is a begging face. Every actor acts, overacts, hams, but this guy simply doesnt act.

Agreed, every other big star has movies which dont suit for their caliber like ra one , kites..but they had a story, over the top but story which matches to this era. Ready and bodyguard type over the top 80ish 90ish films are the lamest trend he started. which A star does such kinda crappy stories today?? Ready was lame. He even surpass akkis stupid movies now.
HOw the hell they fool 2 families like that in ready? this is 2012 for god sake, why made such craps in the era of films like ZNMD ?

who put Jimmy in the worst actor list??? Jimmy is a good actor..even John was soo good in force..

Masala movies are standard for Desis and they expect entertainment.
Also jimmy shergill is a really good actor.

Why do awful movies like Bodygaurd, Ready, etc. become box office phenomenons? This is the dude who very nearly ruined the ending of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam with his craptastic crying meltdown. Ajay Devgan acted circles around this clown. So, a fan, someone appreciative of his work, please tell me what I'm missing. Because Ranbir, Hrithik, Aamir, Saif, and Shahid are WAY ahead of him. If he were a good guy, I would understand it. Sunil Shetty is a terrible actor, but he seems like such a stand-up guy. But Salman abuses women (He totally Ike Turnered Aishwarya Rai), is an alcoholic, and pretty much murdered some homeless dude by running him over drunkenly with his car. So what gives? Even Shah Rukh, who in my opinion is also terrible, has movies that one can mention that really stand the test of time, but why Salman?!?!?!?!?!?!? W*F guys? Seriously?

actually, no. If you ask abhay deol if he should be compared with Salman Khan, he may be insulted to a certain degree.

since you asked about Dharmendra, I don't think he was the best actor of those times either. He was good, yes, but others in his era I feel were better than himself in terms of acting

so ur tryin 2 say tht al those tht win national award r the best actors in bollywood and those that don't are nothing? it seems ur tryin 2 say tht awards r the onli thing tht determine hw successful actor/actress a person is... wel sori 2 disappoint u bt it doesn't... jus becos salman hasnt had many awards during his career doesnt mean he isn't gd n jus becos another actor has had several awards during his career, doesn't mean he is the best...

I dont think awards are fake 4-5 years ago. I beleive those days most of the awards went to deserved actors and actresses. Salman does not even deserved to be nominated in these award show except for GOLDEN KELA AWARD. This guy cant act, period. That said, he does have crowd pulling ability. Even if you put him in Zoo, there will be millions of his fan gathering to get the glimpse of him, subsequently leaving other animals like Hyena, Hippo, monkey, tiger etc etc far behind.

salman has given awesome movies n performed amazing characters onscreen while doing complete justice 2 each type of role... u do knw tht he's the original prem of bollywood...? hw many actors r able 2 giv performances which they wil b remembered 4? nt many, bt salman evn til date is said 2 b the original prem of bollywood becos his roles as prem did n continue 2 hav a gd impact on the audience. so many stil remember his characters in films like MPK, HSSH, HAHK, Tere Naam etc... so in my opinion with or without awards, he is still one of the most successful stars and actors in bollywood today!
