Close friends of actor Hrithik Roshan smell a rat in the recent spate of gossip that has surfaced about a cold war between him and actor Salman Khan. According to Roshan's closest friends, certain 'guerilla publicists' hired for a particular show, have gone around spreading these rumours.

"Hrithik went to Salman's farmhouse in Panvel, when he returned after his surgery. He spent half a day there chatting with him. If he had a problem with him, would he ever go to see him?" asks a close friend of the star.

The problems between Hrithik and Salman apparently started when Salman, reportedly, criticised Guzaarish. "That misunderstanding got over as soon as it started. To suggest that they still have problem, isa clever ploy to garner eyeballs for a show. We actually made some calls to find out, who had been spreading this gossip," says the source.

When contacted, Hrithik seemed unperturbed by the reports of a cold war between him and Salman. "When you are confident about yourself, you should not be bothered about what's going around you," he said, not seeming to keen to talk about the recent controversy as he too feels they were generated by vested interests.

"I know that he (Salman) has all the love for me. His wishes are very important for me — be it about my movies or something I'm going through in my personal life," said Hrithik. But can Salman claim the same about him? "Salman knows that my prayers and love are always with him," he said.
