yh thts wt i thrt...aish was defo offered amisha's role...bt i always heard rani's role was rani's al along...

According to imdb, Sonali Bendre was offered Lagaan, but then they chose not to go for her because she looked too Western. 😆

haha yh i guess wt they meant 2 say was glamourous...cos i remember aamir sayin tht he had amisha in mind after watching an interview of hers on TV bt considering she played a glamourous role in KNPH he werent sure if she wud suit playing gaon ki gori gauri...lol...so thts y they tuk gracy...

I remember an interview of Ash where she said she was offered both the parts and asked to choose, and that Amisha's role was much more important when it was offered to her. After she chose Heera, Rani was signed on for the other role. And since Ash couldn't do the film, her role was given to Rani.

Whatever man, I'm glad she didn't do it! 😆

I am not even debating because I CLEARLY remember BOTH Rani & Aamir talking about Heera's role that how Aamir wanted Rani to do it since the very beginning & even though she didn't have the dates, she still did it.

I am sure if Rani was not the first & only choice and if she really didn't have dates, he would have gone for someone else, but no he didn't.
