I will act as long as I'm alive: Shenaz
| ||
Mumbai, February 24: Unlike other VJs turned actress, Shenaz Treasurywala is not in a hurry. She takes her time to pick only projects that she believes strongly in. Having made her debut in Ishq Vishk, Shenaz is ready with her second film Umar, slated for release on March 3.
Excerpts form an interview: It's been a long time since your first movie, Ishq Vishk? What are your expectations from the film, Umar? Tell us something about your character in the film. Hosting shows, acting...what next? |
What are your plus and minus point as an actress and a TV host?
Honestly, I feel a bit vain to answer and state my positives but since you have asked me, here it goes. I have positive energy that people seem to respond to, touchwood! I am easy to communicate with, people can identify with me because I'm real, spontaneous and think on my feet ha ha ha... . I can play with my emotions easily. One can say I am very comfortable with the camera so I can be very natural. Too many plusses, no? As regarding my negative points, I am a perfectionist! Trust me it takes a huge toll!
How would you differentiate between hosting shows and acting? Which one do you enjoy the most?
Acting and hosting shows is obviously very different. It's like playing different roles versus being myself. I can host shows standing on my head blindfolded! It has become so easy for me nowadays because I've hosted so many of them!
I enjoy both tremendously but I prefer acting. I love playing different people because I can get into their lives and play with different emotions! As an actor I can lead so many different lives and have so many stories in my one short lifespan! Acting is much more exciting for me at this stage in my career!
What is the secret of your awesome smile?
That's so sweet! I smile when I am surrounded by close friends. An exciting role, clicking pictures, swimming, painting, dancing, canoeing, trekking, writing in my journal, planning naughty pranks, going to the theatre to watch a film, reading letters and emails from fans, feeling loved - all this makes me smile wide and remain happy! I love to enjoy my life to the fullest and when you smile, its infectious too.
Any particular directors that you wish to work with?
The list is endless but some of them are Mani Ratnam, Shekar Kapoor, Kallpana Lajmi, Ashutosh Gowariker, Madhur Bhandarkar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Karan Johar, Khalid Mohamed, Yash Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Raj Kumar Hirani, Ketan Mehta, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Ram Gopal Verma, Subash Ghai, David Dhawan, Shaad Ali, Satish Kaushik, and Tigmanshu Dhulia
