It took a flying start on Friday and reeled in approximately Rs 9 crore all-India nett box office collections, on Day One. Now Milan Luthria's The Dirty Picture is set for a fabulous weekend as well.
Featuring Vidya Balan, Tusshar, Emraan Hashmi and Naseeruddin Shah, the film has sustained on its second day. Ticket windows are buzzing and the numbers are growing.
In Mumbai, Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines says, "The Dirty Picture took a very good start and ended day one at Rs 3 crore in the Mumbai circuit and around Rs 9 crore domestically."
The enthusiasm is palpable in Gujarat too. Ajay Bagbai of Rajvi Trade Link says, "The film has sustained its numbers on it second day. It opened to 80-90 per cent today. Yesterday, the film collected Rs 1.15 crore in the Gujarat and Saurashtra region. All-India numbers are above Rs 8 crore."
In the Delhi-UP circuit, G D Mehta of Bobby Arts International says The Dirty Picture has taken expectations to a new high. It ended its first day at Rs 1.8 crore in Delhi-UP and Rs 9 crore, all-India. "Today's opening numbers are better than those of yesterday," reveals Mehta.
In East Punjab, Surendra Saluja of Lakhsya Movies adds, "The second day opened at around 90 per cent. The Dirty Picture wrapped its opening day at Rs 75 lakh in East Punjab. It will enjoy a good run on the weekend too."
But In Rajasthan, collections of the film registered a slight drop today. "The Dirty Picture collected Rs 17 lakh on its opening day. However, today, evening and night shows are expected to improve," says Vasudev Chachan of Sunny Films.
In CP, Sarang Chandak of Shri Rang Films says, "The film opened at 80 per cent on its second day in CP. Yesterday, the film collected Rs 55 lakh and today, it will exceed its opening numbers."
In Mysore, B H Basha of Bahar Enterprises says collections of Dirty Picture have raced past Desi Boyz, ending day one at Rs 31 lakh. "Today, collections will improve further. The second day will end at around Rs 36 lakh in the Mysore circuit and its three-day collections will be around Rs 1 crore. All-India collections are around Rs 9 crore for the film."
In Orissa, Jeetu Khandelwal of Movie Pioneers concludes, "The Dirty Picture closed its opening day at Rs 6.5 lakh in Orissa. The film's numbers are steady today too. The weekend is worth looking forward too."
