Ameesha Patel has lots oodles of weight. We caught up with the svelte and glowing Ameesha clad in a pink, sleeveless T-shirt and jeans over a cup of coffee. The actress has also traded her bright lipstick and eyeliner look for a bare make-up look. We spoke to the actress about the new, hot avatar.
Staying fit
Ameesha says, "Losing weight is not just for vanity but for being healthy and elevating your moods. I have lost weight to feel good and healthy.
Somebody told me exercising is good for the skin. For good skin I will even run. It feels nice to have lost weight as I can wear anything and don't have to constantly pop pills for my fever, aches and pains." The actress has been training with personal trainer Prashant for quite some time.
How regular is she in her work-outs? "When I am in town I go to the gym three to four times a week."
Right now as she leaves for her long London schedule her trainer Prashant Sawant has given her a one-month, six meals a day, diet schedule and exercise sheet including cardio and stretching.
"Working out flushes out the toxins in your blood and makes you feeling good and looking great. I am thoroughly enjoying the compliments I am getting for my looks today." Raaz kya hai
What's the reason behind her no make-up look? "I am enjoying the process about being minimalistic in my make-up today. Earlier I wouldn't fee confident about going without make-up in a film or at events but after having done Gadar and Mangal Pandey and Ankahee with minimal make-up, my confidence that I can look good without it, has been growing."
After loading three big films into her kitty (PNC's Ankahee, Venus's Aap Ki Khatir, and Riteish Sidhwani's Honeymoon Tours And Travels ) and another biggie (to be launched next month) she's now off to London today to shoot for a 40-day schedule of Aap Ki Khatir. |
Says Ameesha's trainer Prashant Sawant...
"I am really enjoying training Ameesha and Shah Rukh. I have been training Ameesha for the last one year.
She has lost five kilos since then. Ameesha was never plump but in good shape - it's just that she's getting a more toned look now - from her waist to her legs and hips. I give her a diet which she religiously maintains.
She doesn't have any carbs or junk food in the night and protein supplements. When she's in Mumbai she comes to my gym, Body Sculptor in Juhu, and works out regularly for one hour. She needs lots of different workouts.
Ameesha gets bored easily so I keep changing her exercise regime every alternate day. Ameesha does a lot of cardio and weight training. She is particularly good with weights. She has done some circuit training also.
On Shah Rukh
I have been training him for the last four years ever since his back problem started. The training is to make his back stronger. Since he's shooting I go to train him at home after 12 in the night. He doesn't eat any outside food and follows the diet I give him. He doesn't eat rotis or carbs in the night but might eat a roasted tandoori chicken. Shah Rukh has got tremendous energy and it's great to be working with him." | |
