Madonna to quit Britain?

There have been rumours that Madonna's marriage to Guy Ritchie is on the rocks
Madonna is reportedly quitting Britain to escape break-up rumours about her marriage.

The pop diva and her family are allegedly moving back to the US for five months, following reports her relationship with husband Guy Ritchie is on the rocks.

The 47-year-old was allegedly upset at claims her "close friendship" with music producer Stuart Price was causing tension between her and Guy.

A source told Britain's The People newspaper: "She feels like she is living in a goldfish bowl in Britain.

"She thinks an extended break will do them all the world of good and take the heat off for a while."

The singer, who has two children, Lourdes and Rocco, also needs to be in the States to prepare for her upcoming world tour.

The insider added: "Madonna needs to start planning her tour and it makes sense for her to sort it out over there.

"Stuart will be working on the material with her. Whether or not he will fly out with them is unclear."
The source also insisted Madonna and Guy's five-year marriage is as strong as ever, adding: "They argue like mad but it doesn't mean anything.

"Madonna loves him."

American Idol judge in Rs 23-crore TV deal

Simon Cowell has signed a megabucks deal to keep him at ITV for the next two years.
The contract is believed to be worth up to 3million.

Since appearing as a judge on the first series of Pop Idol in 2000, Cowell (46) has become one of the world's biggest TV stars. His personal fortune is believed to be around 45 million (Rs 345 crore).
Loved and loathed in equal measure, Cowell's searing put-downs have become his trademark on both sides of the Atlantic.

His brutal honesty makes a huge contribution to talent show The X Factor, where he also sits as a judge.
ITV's director of television Simon Shaps said: "I'm delighted that we've persuaded Simon to stay at ITV. He is a brilliant and unique talent and I look forward to continuing to work with him both on and off screen. The X Factor was one of the biggest shows on UK television last year.

Cowell said: "ITV gave me my first break on television and I'm incredibly grateful. We've had a fantastic relationship and I'm looking forward to another two successful years."

I love living in the UK. Brits are far more intelligent and civilised than Americans
