The pop diva and her family are allegedly moving back to the US for five months, following reports her relationship with husband Guy Ritchie is on the rocks.
The 47-year-old was allegedly upset at claims her "close friendship" with music producer Stuart Price was causing tension between her and Guy.
A source told Britain's The People newspaper: "She feels like she is living in a goldfish bowl in Britain.
"She thinks an extended break will do them all the world of good and take the heat off for a while."
The singer, who has two children, Lourdes and Rocco, also needs to be in the States to prepare for her upcoming world tour.
The insider added: "Madonna needs to start planning her tour and it makes sense for her to sort it out over there.
"Stuart will be working on the material with her. Whether or not he will fly out with them is unclear." The source also insisted Madonna and Guy's five-year marriage is as strong as ever, adding: "They argue like mad but it doesn't mean anything.
