It's official — Tanaaz Currim now wants to be called Tanaaz Lal. The actress is back to using her maiden name, as she wants to move on in life with her beau, actor Bakhtyar Irani.
"We are extremely focussed about our relationship, and do plan to marry by the year-end. I don't want people to just say anything now. We are serious about each other. I admit he is younger than me, and I am divorced (she was married to Farid Currim), with a 13-year-old daughter.
But that does not mean I can't live life again. Even I have a reason to be happy," says Tanaaz, as she explains the reasoning behind her decision…

All these years, I did not feel like telling everyone after my divorce, 'Okay, now call me Tanaaz Lal'. Now, there is a reason. I want to move on in life and not be bound by what has happened in the past. What has occurred is over and done with. I want to begin life anew with Bakhtyar. And I want to clear all doubts in the minds of people.

I was in college when I married Farid Currim...

Tanaaz made her acting debut on stage and on television with Zabaan Sambhal Ke. She has featured in several plays, like I Do I Don't and Two 2 Tango.
On the soap circuit, she was last seen in Ye Meri Life Hai on Sony, and is now in Fultoo Pagal Hai, on Zee Smile.
On the big screen, she was last seen in Kuch Naa Kaho. She will now star in Abbas Mustan' film, 36, China Town, and in Rajesh Singh's Main Johnny Aur Ronny, in which she plays the role of Main.
Bakhtyar was formerly seen as the zany Shahrukh in Sony weekly, Batliwalla House No 43. He now features in Home Sweet Home (Zee Smile), Lo-Kal Lo Baat (Sab) and The Great Indian Comedy Show (Star One). He will also feature as a fashion designer in UTV's new show, Arranged Marriage, slated to air on Star One. | |
