Tusshar, Aftab say 'NO' to Dhamaal

Director Inder Kumar (Dil, Raja, Beta, Ishq) had decided to cast the Kya Kool Hain Hum hit jodi of Tusshar Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh in his new venture, Dhamaal, to be produced by Ashok Thakeria.

"I am not casting Tusshar and Riteish because they clicked in Kyaa Kool Hai Hum. They showed fantastic comic timing in KKHH, which is required in my film too, but more importantly, they fit the script I have for Dhamaal," Kumar told hitList earlier. Dhamaal was also supposed to star Sunjay Dutt, Aftab Shivdasani and Arshad Warsi.

Cast has changed

Now, the cast has changed. Tusshar and Aftab are out of the film; Sharman has joined the cast, while the fifth guy is still to be finalised.
Says Kumar, "Tusshar had a few reservations about the role that we were offering him." When contacted, Tusshar and Aftab confirmed that they were not doing Dhamaal.

Tusshar said, "Things didn't work out this time. But I would love to do a film with Inder Kumar and Ashok Thakeria in the future."

Aftab said he had date problems. "I have done the hit Masti with Kumar and Thakeria, and was very keen to work with them again. I am sure there'll be a next time very soon."

Famous five

Dhamaal, a laugh-riot originally planned for a November 2005 start, will start when Pyare Mohan (the las song for this film has been canned) comes to a close. Locales are being worked out. "Dhamaal is a journey of five guys. We are putting it together, and will start shooting before Pyare
Mohan (which is ready) hits the theatres," Kumar signs off.
