The reason I brought up the budget was because that was all I was talking about that BG beat Ra one in overall collections (as two weeks normally tells us status) despite having huge hype, more screens, and dubbed in other languages. In otherwords, more exposure, but still BG made more money so was correcting the poster. Meaning it saw a dip in viewers as the days progressed.

I agree a small budget movie like Udaan, A Wednesday, etc, and even Himesh's movie was entertaining and was up against a biggie like SRK, and also happened to become a hit and recover it costs immediately, and saw and upsurge over time taking business away, and this movie had hardly any hype, screens, and even reviews here were not posted as SRK hype overshadowed everywhere including here. Yet against those odds the movie did well. 👏

So still not sure why your point came about. Yet, movie likings are subjective what one may like not necessary others will. Anyhow, each to their own.

Well forget BG...The way Ra.One is performing it might not beat even Ready in BO Collection in India even with inflated ticket prices and 3D version+ Telegue/Tamil version. I think there was a reason why KJo and Aditya Chopra never wanted to direct Ra. One 😉


I think SRK is a great actor but a horrible producer. SRK as an actor in Ra. One was successful but as a producer he failed. Maybe SRK should stick to acting only in future.

Ra.One is not a blockbuster and SRK needed it to be. You don't invest crores of your own money just to make a slim profit. That's just not good business sense. It is his first 100 crore grosser but he had to spend a crore to get a crore. That's not good enough for a star his calibre surely? There is a certain sense of schadenfreude simply because the movie and SRK himself was shoved down our throats for months and months beforehand. In the end, the immense marketing has backfired and it's as simple as that.

Sorry no one gets victimised in Bollywood esp if you are one of the 3 Khans. None of them get my sympathy or empathy.
