Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha will have 12 life-size paintings done for their forthcoming film Rowdy Rathore. Their paintings will be exhibited in Mumbai and Delhi as part of the film promotion (source Mid-Day)

Rowdy Rathore is directed by Prabhu Deva and stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha. Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala, the filming started on 10 August 2011. It is the third remake of the Telugu film Vikramarkudu.The Film is expectedslatd for a June 2012 release.

The first look for Prabhudeva's new film, starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha, is out.

The 80's style poster, made to look like an oil painting, looks phenomenal.

The film, produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is an action-comedy in the same vein as Prabhudeva's Salman Khan starrer, Wanted.

Handmade posters to make comeback with 'Rowdy Rathod'

Mumbai:What will be new about the first look of Akshay Kumar starrer 'Rowdy Rathode'? The makers of the actioner have roped in painters to hand paint the first poster of the movie.

The film, also starring Sonakshi Sinha, is being co-produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and UTV, who are trying to revive the culture of handmade posters, which took a back seat in the 1990s.

Bhansali and UTV are bringing back the style by roping in painters to make the first look of Akshay's 'Rowdy Rathore', said a source adding that this is the first time in years that an actor will have his portrait in the get up of his character as a first look.

Directed by Prabhu Deva, 'Rowdy Rathode' also marks Akshay's return to the action genre.
