Bad reputation for celebs?

What do you think are the prominent points for the bad reputation for actors and actresses?

Some in my opinion...

PC - her unstoppable surgeries and closeness with SRK

Bebo - Her attitude and full of herselfness

Katrina - her life before Bollywood and her lack of expressions

Aishwarya - it used to be her attitude but shes not that bad anymore

Deepika - her big mouth, lack of expressions and keep on dropping films

SRK - his full of himselfness and closeness with PC & fight with Salman

Salman - his fight with SRK and personal life as in getting ppl killed, etc

Akshay - his repetitive comedies

Ranbir - his casanova image

Imran - his lack of expressions

John - lack of expressions

These are just from the top of my head...give some more!!

Hrithik : his VEIN popping and his "im so dildaar i'll hand out expensive gifts and cheques to all contestants on my reality show" attitude

Saif: His occasional "wannabe intellectual" statements

PC - add her wannabe-ness too...

Katrina - the sati savitri "im a pure virginal princess" attitude tht she projects...also, the bimbo image..

Aamir - again, i think he gets critisized sometimes for his pseudo intellectual comments..like "the audience is not mature enough to accept dhobi ghat" or something like tht..

SRK: his looks...gets called a rasin, uncle etc...

Akki- his rumored torrid affairs with many women including shilpa, raveena and priyanka...

Kareena : the self centered ness, bimboish attitude, inarticulate statements.

Vidya: her weight i guess...and the fact tht she looks older and mature, "aunty" type

Sonam : Her "im so smart, i read jane austen and im gonna talk abt everyones upbringing in my interviews" attitude...also the fact tht she keeps refering to herself as a "classic" actress like waheeda reheman or meena kumari or audery hepburn

When we look at these celebrities we are also looking to them so that we can break away from our own life; the life that we feel is tedious or mundane or mediocre or uninteresting or we think "My life will never get better and my life is so empty, so I look up to these people; and I think they have everything that I want to have, they are everything I want to be and they do all the things that I would love to do; to take the big vacations, to drive in the cars, to dress in expensive clothes, to go to the parties." Now the paradox is that we want to put people up high, on a pedestal, so that we can worship them and then there is a part of us inside, that also wants to tear them down, to bring them down off of the pedestal. So in one breath we are saying, "Oh this is so great, this is so fantastic" and then after a while we become more frustrated with our life, and we say "Oh good! Their life is falling apart and because they are having problems in their life, now I don't feel so bad about the problems in my life" and occasionally it reminds us that "Oh, being a celebrity is not that fantastic."

i had to write about this for an exam as a stimulus peice, the quotes are from a professor interviewed in the documentary...
