I'd be totally fine with Ranbir and Deepika in this movie, but somewhere i still hoped to see Saif and PC in this movie. Oh Well... 😊

This film is turning out to be better than the book...

Ranbir as Krish

Deepika / Asin / Tamanaah / Many others as Ananya

Neetu Kapoor / Kiron Kher as Mrs. Malhotra

Rishi Kapoor / Boman Irani as Ananya's dad

Sonam as the Therapist...😆

Irfan Khan would be nice as Krish's South Indian boss, Bala!

And we need someone with a pinched up face for Ananya's snooty mother!😆 Any suggestions?

The book has some amazingly funny lines and moments! The Harish scene was ROFL!😆 I could actually imagine CB sitting there in the middle of a dozen Tam Brahm's, looking clueless and making noise while eating the Muruku!😆 When you read the book, the honesty and frankness with which he has written it comes across so clearly and that is why it is immensely readable!

Also his remark that 'girls in IIM would probably not bother with superficial things like waxing off body hair...'😆

I can bet CB's inlaws would have stopped talking to him after reading this book!😆

PS: It would be howlarious to see Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir and Deepika in that Hotel scene...Deja Vu!😆 Neetu Kapoor would be spot-on for the role of Mrs. Malhotra. She did a great job playing the middle-class Punjabi Housewife in Do Dooni Chaar!

Poppy... I have not seen the tamil JWM... These tamil DVD's dont have the subtitles...😡

But i did get some telugu DVD's with subs from India this time... Watched Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam... Nice movie... She was good ...

LOL at Neetu... Can totally imagine her...😆😆😆

Actually! Two States is a perfect desi comedy, which is relatable and believable! The Maggi making in the hostel room, the cheap Dhaba Food, the cramming up for studies, the interviews, the arguments with parent's, the haggling with auto-waalahs...if Karan Johar does't Joharize it and turns Krish into some designer suit wearing, psuedo NRI kinds and turns Ananya into a chiffon clad beauty, I think the book is ready-made material which won't require a lot of work to turn into a good script!

Nitya Menon is a great choice...she does have the spunk that Ananya's character had!

aww...neetu kapoor was more on the adorable side in DDC...the mother in the book is more like "crazy manipulative" in a way😆..thts why i thought kirron kher would be perfect for the mother...lol

and i LOVE CB's one liners...

These South Indians don't know how to control their daughters. Everyone from Hema Malini to Sridevi, all of them trying to catch Punjabi men!😆 (it is true in a way!)

Pammi aunty lived in Pitampura...every lane in this area had more marble than the Taj Mahal!

She slid her hand into her bosom ATM and pulled out a wad of notes. I wondered if Pammi aunty's cleavage also contained credit cards!😆

Actually, this won't be an easy book to adapt afterall! Because the funniest and wittiest parts of the story takes place inside Krish's head...in his conversations with himself, which won't be easy to portray in the book!

PS : CB's two best books are the ones that are based on his own life...5 point someone and 2 States. The other two are so mediocre and boring! His latest just released on the 7th, yet to read it!

^^they r infact the perfect guys to direct a non glossy, NRI romance...😆 I wish imtiaz directed it...hed bring just the needed homey, everyday flavour to it...

Something down to earth and everyday like BBB or JWM would be gr8...

Karan Johar does not have a middle-class sensibility and hence he cannot work out a simple romance between two normal people!

His characters have to be out of the world pycho's like Dev, Maya ect ect, who romance around in Philadephia, after chucking their spouses!

People like Imtiaz, Hirani, Vishal Bhardwaj, Dibakar Banerjee are from a working-class background and have a far better feel of such a storyline and what it requires!

Imtiaz has directed one of my all-time favourite love-stories from Bollywood, Socha Na Tha...he would have been a great choice for a director!
