😆... there are lots of things to not like about Chetan Bhagat- but you've got to give it to the guy when it comes to sense of humour...he does have a funny bone in that big body!😆

Couldn't agree with you more! When I read the book, I could totally picutrize a fair-complexioned, bespectacled and studious looking Ranbir in the role of Krish Malhotra! He is also one of the few actors around who is the correct age to play a Management Student!

Asin, though a very mediocre actress, would be picture perfect as Ananya! Deepika, for some reason, won't suit the role as much! Though she looks every inch a South Indian just like Asin!

PS : Boman in the role of Ananya's father would be a hoot and Kiran Kher as Krish's mother!😆

PPS: One of the funniest scene in the book (and there are loads) is the one where Krish visits Ananya at her home and wonders if he is supposed to eat the Plaintain Leaf on which food is served to him!😆 Also, I absolutely loved his interation with Ananya's father...

CB is obviously no Vikram Seth or Salman Rushdie, but he has his own style of writing which is very charming and makes for an enjoyable read!

Rishi Kapoor would also make a great 'Khadoos' Father, but he doens't look even one bit South Indian!😆 Nor does Boman for that matter, but that actor is a chameleon! He can pull off any role!

There is a Southern actress called Tamanaah (picture below) ...she would also be perfect as the female lead!

hey i have seen this chick in a movie! let me google which one is it.. i have read the book so i can imagine her pulling the role easily! 👍🏼

true...the book is a funny, cute read although it does stereotype tamils to be dull, scary looking and boring and punjabis to be greedy, money hungry and dumb...

but its a hilarious book...and the relationship between kkrish and ananya is well portrayed...

I have plently of fav scenes...some of them are:

the scene when ananya attends Krish's cousin's wedding and his relatives get shocked to see "a gori madrasan" and the way she resolves the dowry issue...

the scene where harish comes to "See" ananya and family and the way kkrish describes it 😆

And my favourite of all time: when his mother is crying in the hotel room and watching a tv serial wherein the son throws his parents out and says its "100% reality" and kkrish is like "yeh sure...shes staying in park hyatt sea facing suite, ate 4 different kinds of icecreams and bread pudding for lunch but still, all sons are villains torturing their parents" 🤣
