Pallavi Joshi (on Vivek Agnihotri)

What's the best thing about being married to a filmmaker?
The complete knowledge of each other's work and the nuances of being in the film industry, which includes inflated egos, momentary ups and downs, and erratic timings.

Where did you meet your hubby?
At Brabourne Stadium during a rock show.

Do you worry about your husband falling in love with his leading ladies?
I'm just waiting for him to do that. (laughs) Jokes apart, the thought never occurred to me.

How would you react if you heard a rumour of a link-up with your husband?
I heard some rumours during the making of Chocolate, but it didn't matter, and won't in future.

Are you his critic or fan?
Both, I would say.

Would you tell Vivek which actors to cast in his films?
I would certainly tell him, but it all depends on his perceptions.

Both of us have worked for television shows and shared the creative process.

Do you go with him on outdoors?
I visit him if I start missing him too much. But with the responsibility of kids and their school, I can't accompany him on all the trips.

Which work of his is your favourite?
His first soap Yeh Kahaan Aa Gaye Hum, which aired on Zee TV.

Your hubby's best qualities.
He is always moving with the times. Be it new technology, ideas, people he can adapt to it very easily.

If you and your husband fought over work what would it be?
We fight over every thing, as we are two different individuals from different backgrounds. And if there's no conflict life gets so boring.

Shefali Shah (on Vipul Shah)

I'm critical at the same time I enjoy the work.

Would you tell him which actors to cast in his films?
We talk about various aspects of filmmaking. In fact, we serve as the sounding board for each other. He respects whatever I have to say but the final decision lies with him.

Do you give him any creative input?
Yes I do, but it's his prerogative to put it to use or not.

Do you go with him on outdoors?
Yes, sometimes I do.

Both Aankhen and Waqt are extremely special.

Your hubby's best qualities.
I think he's the calmest human being I have ever seen. He has solutions to all kinds of problems. He will never let the pressure get on to you. He's extremely caring about fellow-beings, including his spot boys. At the same time he's one of the most enterprising men I have met so far.

It hasn't happened yet. But if that happens, maybe I'll confront him.

Would you tell him which actors to cast in his films?
Yes, and he would consider my suggestions but the ultimate decision lies with him.

Do you give him any creative inputs?
He discusses stories with me and I give him my reactions. In fact, you can say we discuss films when others discuss kids.

I have three — Sholay, Shakti and Sagar.

Your hubby's best qualities.
He's too good and thinks about others all the time.
