| Vrajesh Hirjee and Ash Chandler in The Man's World Show | It is described to be irreverent, funny and essential for Indian men. From locker room talk to bedtime tales, anchors Vrajesh Hirjee and Ash Chandler will take it all in their stride.
AXN's new offering, The Man's World Show, will have the duo do all the man talk on the latest fads to gizmos to the action from the sporting arena. They will also talk about women — and even have some bombshells talking on men. The premiere
The Man's World Show is slated to premiere on January 18 and will air every Wednesday at 10.30 pm. It is also AXN's first homegrown Indian production.
Hirjee currently anchors Dum Duma Dum on Nickelodeon while Chandler, better known for his stand-ups, makes his small screen debut.
"I will be myself on the show so a lot of my stand-up will rub on to the show," says Chandler. "There is lots for women on telly nowadays, it's time there was something for the guys," he adds. The cast
The show has been shot at various locations including lounge bars in Mumbai. "It's basically everything to do with men, specifically Indian men.
The show is up-front, chatty, topical and fun," adds Hirjee. Besides the two anchors, there will also be characters such as Benny, the 30-year-old Virgin, Dr Love, Nimmu Maasi, Demo Girl, and Tara — the advice-giving bartender.
According to Rohit Bhandari, director, sales and marketing, AXN (South Asia), "The channel has created a niche for itself, targeting an upwardly mobile male audience. The Man's World Show is in keeping with the channel's endeavor to infuse an Indian flavour by offering the viewer a range of answers for his evolving cosmopolitan lifestyle."
The themes
Each episode of the show will have themes such as The Art of Seduction, The Rules of Success in the Workplace, and How to be the Perfect Lover. They will be approached in a funny, and unexpected way.
Both the hosts are taking on the show in their own inimitable style, as both Chandler and Hirjee can be dead serious as well as seriously funny.
