UTV's olive branch to Abhishek

UTV Motion Pictures and Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine faced a lot of controversies following the news of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's pregnancy. And as the events unfolded, it strained the relationship between UTV and the Bachchans. However, now the production house has decided to extend an olive branch to the family by offering Abhishek a role in their upcoming film Ghanchakkar.

A source revealed that UTV sent a text message to Abhishek about the film and their eagerness to get him on-board. "Abhishek is in Jaipur, shooting for Rohit Shetty's film Bol Bachchan. And so, he has not had the time to meet them and listen to the script. UTV has taken the first step towards reconciliation. Whether Abhishek does the film or not remains to be seen," said the source.

The tensions between UTV and the Bachchans emerged after the excitement of Big B's tweet on becoming a grandfather wore off. The industry was abuzz with speculations about the fate of UTV and Bhandarkar's film. Initially, the film was going to be revised to accommodate the pregnant actress.

However, since her look did not fit the requirement, the film was to be put on the back burner till Ash could resume work. After a lot of back and forth between the Bachchans and the filmmakers, Ash opted out of the film. Then, Kareena was brought on-board to fill in for Ash.

And so, in an attempt to mend fences, UTV has decided to approach Abhishek to join their upcoming project, which will be directed by Rajkumar Gupta.
