Musical rendezvous of ace Tabla players

Once in a lifetime you get the opportunity to hear the legendary Zakir Hussain sharing the stage with his younger brother Taufiq Qureshi, who is also an ace percussionist. It is surely going to be musical extravagance to see the Tabla maestro and his brother come together on a single platform. Both are dominating and masters of their respective fields and have decided to come together to perform in the world's largest-selling music album 'Rhydhun'. The album was released in 2000 and is now in its fifth year and has made a record of being India's largest-selling world music album. The album is dedicated to their father, the legendry and Tabla maestro Ustad Allarakha.

In the concert they'll also be performing the song 'Ashawali Dhoop' with vocal aid by Zakir. The sales of the song will go towards the cause of the tsunami victims. Along with friends L Shankar and Shankar Mahadevan, they'll be performing live in mid-February.

Other than this Rhydhun performance, both brothers are also looking forward to play in a daylong concert in February in memory of their father. International hall of fame musicians like Terry Bozzio, Giovanni Hidalgo, Ali Akbar Khan and an Uzbeki drummer will participate in the event whose tagline reads, 'musicians as diverse as world'.
